Latest theater movie was Suicide Squad, which was not as bad as I was expecting. "TV and Movies", I'm watching American Crime. I'm so shaken from the last season that it's hard to see these actors as different characters. I had that feeling in American Horror Story too but not as intensely, that was damn good.

If you like so bad it's good films, then you're going to like it.

Moco Loco 10-03-2016 12:59 AM

Nice, I do have an appreciation for those.

moonbeam 10-06-2016 02:49 AM

I just watched the first "Troll" movie. While "Troll 2" is so bad it's good, this one is legit good. And I loved it. It's pretty much a Fairy Tale horror move.

Joe Dirt 2...ugh, what a horrendous pile of celluloid FAIL :embarrassed:

i liked the offbeat and kooky original Joe Dirt but the 'sequel' is a total waste of frozen airliner poo-meteor lolz

Titanic (1997) Director's Edition, on blu-ray, still one of my favorite films ever! love Jack and Rose, and he is the continuing inspiration for my nearly seven-year Na'vized username and net nom de guerre.:love2:

"E.T.". Even after 30 years of watching it, it still gives me all the feels.

For A Few Dollars More

Everybody enjoys a good spaghetti western, and Colonel Mortimer knows what's up.

Passengers (2016), at Lynnhaven AMC24. awesome film! don't listen to the trashmedia critics and haters, Passengers is a great film, full of subtle messages and themes. great visuals, sets, music, the starliner Avalon is one of kind in sci-fi, and the acting by leads Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt, is sensational and great chemistry between the characters. two thumbs way up! go see it!

i want to see it again! :)

I watched "The 'Burbs". It's still pretty funny. I forgot it had Carrie Fisher, and she's pretty good in it, too.

Ja'k Dawsiin 01-08-2017 02:51 PM

Snowden (2016) excellent film by Oliver Stone, detailing the events of 2013 in which Edward Snowden, a gov't contractor for agencies involved in illegal and unconstitutional surveillance of ordinary Americans and lots of citizens of other countries, reveals the classified material to the press, namely the Guardian. i won't mention the obvious agencies, because that would trigger keywords those very same entities are bulk data collecting on every moment we post on the internet and use our cellular leashes. Joesph Gordon-Levitt plays Snowden, and Shailene Woodley plays his longtime girlfriend, Lindsay Mills, who has moved to Moscow to be with him.

excellent documentary and drama, very scary in its messages, and is very detailed in the shortcomings, lies, and broken promises of both the Bush and Obama Administrations. expect more of the same or worse, from King Trump.

two thumbs up!

Wimbledon (2004) a very funny and warm sports/romance film with Paul Bettany and Kirsten Dunst. i really liked it, two thumbs up. not a tennis fan, but i liked this tennis comedy/romance, thought they were great together.

Just yesterday I watched The Martian again and man what a great movie.

A couple days ago I watched The Big Lebowski. It's an old film starring Jeff Bridges but holy crap it was funny. Now I understand all those Meme references.

Shin Godzilla. At a convention for fans. The director was there and introduced the film via a translator. This movie won the Japanese Academy awards last year as best of all categories. Shinji Higuchi still is surprised he and Hideaki Anno won. Of course the movie is an allegory to the 2011 tsunami disaster and Fukushima. events still being dealt with in Japan today.

Here's a clip wiere the JSDF fight back, edited of course, but this is exactly how they would fight in real life. The writers did their research and it's exact to how such combat would be handled. Godzilla is entirely CGI, first ever by Toho. It's very close to Hollywood style. Yeah, it fooled fans so good to make many think it was a suit. :) This movie also has the USA help fight Godzilla. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sg_6EfyQOso

Spiderman Homecoming, at Cinemark 24 in Mansfield, OH. this movie was awesome and so dang funny, Tom Holland is great as a young Peter Parker. i love how SPH connects to the larger MCU world, but stands on it's own as a great Spidey movie. i am impatiently awaiting the sequel, two thumbs way up!!!

Last weekend...

War for the Planet of the Apes: Alright.

Dunkirk (2017 Nolan) on 15/70 imax in Disney Springs FL: Cool. Plenty of respect for the film and its craftsmanship, don't get me wrong but as typical for nolan I was somehow left totally cold, indeterminate and not drawn into any emotional connection with characters whatsoever. The aerial combat plot thread was my favorite of the three. Love the spitfires. Hans Zimmer scores can get droney. Opening scene of this film is classic.

And you all will probably get a kick out of this, I walked out of both of the above thinking mostly about Avatar, how da*n good it is, and how much I would have rather seen it on that screen. This is almost an unspoken thing in my family now. Cameron, your perfect engine ruined everyone else's film for me. And I'm totally fine with that.

Ja'k Dawsiin 08-15-2017 10:38 PM

Avengers Age of Ultron, on blu-ray. love the MCU films, so much coming in 2017, 2018, and 2019, wow!

kohli 08-16-2017 06:15 AM

I think it was The Boss Baby.
It was quite funny.
Hoping to watch a movie very soon.

roastednuts 10-19-2017 11:58 PM
