Richard III, with Ian McKellen in the title role. I don't know Shakespeare as well as I'd like but I know I liked this overall.

Hellboy. If you liked the first two Hellboy movies.... just watch those again. This isn't an improvement. I've saw a review that said if you liked Venom, you'll like this..... I really liked Venom, this was meh.

I really enjoyed it, especially the third act. I'll probably say more in a few weeks when I've given people a bit more time to see it. Don't buy drinks, it's three hours with about a half an hour worth of trailers. There is no post credit scene, although it's worth it to stick around at least until the screen fades to black and the regular credits start rolling.

Watched Star Trek: The Voyage Home last Friday. First ST movie I had seen in 15-20 yrs, LOL! It was pretty good, forgot how well written they were. Probably going to start watching the MCU movies this weekend, got 22 to watch, LOL!

"The Hustle"

John Wick Chapter 3.

I'm just going to say this because I had a problem with it. It's a spoiler but not a plot relevant one. One of the kills at the start of the movie featured a knife going through someone's eye, and it's shot fairly close up to it when it happened. I had a problem with that and as a result I will not be going back to see this movie again. If you have a problem with that, you may want to avoid this movie. Based on the trailer I will be avoiding Brightburn for the same reason.

Currently watching Alita: Battle Angle. I can't believe how many references there are to Avatar. I am 23 minutes in and already seen a handful.

Wolfwalkers. Beautifully done hand-drawn animation. Seems to touch upon some of the same themes as Avatar.

Aye, I did enjoy this film even though I didn’t think it’s among Nolan’s finest.

I just want to talk about a film I watched back in 2018 in theaters: First Man. I’m an aerospace enthusiast, and the Apollo program has interested me since childhood. While the film is reasonably well made from a “technical” perspective, I must say I really didn’t like the melancholy portrayal of Armstrong, and the rather dark tone (intentional or not) of space exploration.

In contrast, I thought the 2019 Apollo 11 documentary, where the old footage was remastered, was excellent.

Don't Look Up. Funny and sad at the same time. I once hoped that 12 years after Avatar we wouldn't need movies like that anymore.
