Avatar Sequels Delayed? :(

Just saw this posted on FACEBOOK when I got home. This is sad, very sad only. :'( But...I guess if it will help make the sequels more ground-breaking and amazing I guess the wait will be worth it. Still bummed out though to have to wait for another 4 years. Tsa-hey! :hmm:

Producer Jon Landau Says 'Avatar' Sequels are Still Four Years Away - Fandango.com

Yeah it does suck that there's a longer wait.
But that just means it'll be that much better when it gets here.

There's a thread running here: http://www.tree-of-souls.com/sequel_...on_landau.html

4 yeahrs? Meh - was that not originally something like 2013? And now it is 2016? By then all the viewers are almost a decade older, thats not a good move...

Just as well I have a few copies of Avatar that I bought to watch as I think they will be well worn out by then!

Oh well, we should be well versed in meet up planning by then!

I think it's worth it for them to be at their best... I'd rather they take the time they need.

That said, it's still very sad :'(

:( :(

I know it'll be worth it in the end, as always. Though it's a huge shame to have to wait for so long. Hopefully some interesting Avatar news and that book will pop up to fill in the huge gap.

All my thoughts exactly, HNM.

Yeah, now there will be no excuse for the sequel films to be anything less than totally EPIC! ;)

Seven years to make a sequel?
They must have hit some *serious* problems if they have to delay it two years, since they said it *wouldn't* take as long this time, since the first time, they were experimenting with so many new techniques.

Well, the first did take 17 from when it was first written, or about 10 in terms of actually doing things :P

I understand he didn't start doing anything until Fellowship of the Ring came out in 2001 (maybe later) to convince him the computers were suitably impressive.

Nah, they said that in 2005, JC brought the idea up again. So it took four years to make the first one.

I thought about doing this (for the same reason), but between the original, the SE, the CE and 2 DVR's that both have Avatar in HD, I decided against it. :)
