Clash of the Titans.

What are your thoughts on the movie? Are you going to watch it when it is released, or wait until blu-ray/DVD?

When I saw the trailer for the first time, I was in awe. Giant desert scorpions, sea krakens, and medusa-like humanoid creatures... it looks like an interesting movie, especially since Sam Worthington will be playing the main character. However, it doesn't strike my interest enough to watch it in theaters. I'll probably wait until the blu-ray release.

Here's the 'Clash of the Titans' trailer:

I think it looks pretty good. I love ancient Greek mythology and with Sam, it's a definite must for me :D

R-D-A 03-24-2010 05:39 AM

Its gonna be a nice movie. They did kill our mythology a bit though xD

Ah well...Im sure its gonna be worth watching :)

Gunny 03-24-2010 06:52 AM

I remember an interview where Sam said he will not do a movie he would not watch himself. So I am going to trust his judgment and go see it LOL. I think it will be pretty good, though I will probably see it in 2D not 3D

Apollo 03-24-2010 09:38 AM

Release the Kraken!!!!
*I love that actor so **** much!!!*
MUAHHAHAAHAHAHA! I got jolts of awesome and excitement consuming me.

Sacred Tsahaylu 03-24-2010 10:28 AM

Liam Neeson is a beast. He's one of my favourite actors

Temtongkek 03-24-2010 12:10 PM

In on this. The original Clash of the Titans was pure FIGHT. This one, with our boy Sam, looks like a worthy contender. Gotta show the support!

laura neytiri 03-24-2010 12:26 PM

i'll see it in 3D it probably will be pretty good :) i can't wait to see it!!

R-D-A 03-24-2010 01:13 PM

hmm aint the Kraken a monster of Norse mythology?

rapunzel77 03-24-2010 05:52 PM

This looks like a fun movie to watch. I'll see it. As for as the Kracken, I thought that Greek mythology had something similar. I'll have to look it up in my mythology books that I have at home :).

Apparently so. "Kraken" is categorized under "Creatures in Norse mythology" on Wikipedia.

i second that!

ill watch it, not sure if its gonna be in 3d or not - i already feel like i spend many months worth of movie-going-budget on avatar really.

Iknimaya 03-25-2010 04:14 AM

The original Clash of Titans is a CLASSIC. I wanted to see this new version even before I was a fan of Sam Worthington vis-a-vis Avatar.

J Sully 03-25-2010 07:07 AM

this is a movie i´m really looking forward to see!

Human No More 03-25-2010 09:53 AM

I have no idea what it's even about. Don't follow films that closely really. All I know is that Sam is in it.

Dreamwalker 03-30-2010 10:52 PM

Yes! I am definitely watching this.
For my Latin class, I have to watch a movie with Greek/Roman mythology in it, and I'm trying to convince my teacher that watching this will count :D

Oh yeah, and Sam just happens to be in it <3

You'll have no problem convincing your teacher if you show her Wikipedia...

Clash of the Titans is a 2010 fantasy film which is a remake of the 1981 film of the same name, itself loosely based on the Greek mythology of Perseus. Directed by Louis Leterrier and starring Sam Worthington, the film was originally set for standard release on March 26, 2010.[3][4] It was later announced that the film would be converted to 3-D and released on April 2, 2010.

I will definitely be using that!

Immo39 04-01-2010 08:07 AM

I'm going to watch it in a little over 3 hours (from the time of this post), so I can probably give you guys a review on it (I'll not spoil it though :))

Sacred Tsahaylu 04-01-2010 10:44 AM

Dammit! I don't think it's out here until tomorrow :(
I expect a full review but without spoilers(if that is possible) :D

Immo39 04-02-2010 12:44 AM

I've watched the movie.. its not too bad.. but here's a spoiler if you want to know more (those of you who don't want should obviously not click on it..)

Spoiler: Notable Points

Sacred Tsahaylu 04-02-2010 01:03 AM

Immo39, damn you. I am so tempted to press the spoiler button, soooo very tempted.
I've decided that I am gonna see it in 3D after all :D

Omaticaya Na'vi 04-02-2010 01:06 AM

Im not surprised :P

I may possibly go see it tonight if my friend is going, if not than Ill just wait lol. No rush for me like it was with avatar

rapunzel77 04-05-2010 06:49 PM

I saw it on Saturday in 2D since I heard it wasn't worth seeing it in 3D. Overall: fun movie. I give it about a 5 Paradiso. Sam was good in it. I was a bit put off that he didn't have the hair extension wigs that the other actors had. His haircut was too anachronistic for me. He looked more like a modern soldier than ancient Greek hero. They could have done something about that.

The story fudged the Greek myth at times. I'm not surprised there. The original wasn't exactly being accurate either.

Apollo 04-06-2010 12:20 AM

I saw this movie, and 4 others on the same day, and I can say Worthington really didn't fit the part as a Spoiler->'Fisherman'<-!

However the movie was just.... epic! Zeus is the man! No one on this planet could of fit that role. His voice, presence, ahh my gods he's just amazing!

zongtseng 04-11-2010 10:36 AM

I saw this tonight as well. My first movie since 19 straight Avatar viewings, and there is of course no way it could live up to that. My impression that it was a good piece of mindless entertainment. It looked and sounded good on a huge DLP screen, just as any movie in this era should. Liam Neeson was pretty good as Zeus. Sam Worthington was fine, but it wasn't a memorable performance really.

~ViperSB1~ 04-11-2010 06:06 PM

Just saw it last night and was not impressed, it was ok. Thought alot of the dialogue was cheesy and does not live up to the original IMO. I would say more but I don't want to spoil the movie for anyone. Oh, and see it in 2D, the 3D was bad, very bad only.

Ateyo 04-11-2010 08:28 PM

I have seen it in 3D and doesn´t worth to be seen in 3D
I expected more of the script, the plot, if I would have to put a mark I´d said 6/10

xcrunner08 04-18-2010 09:49 PM

I was disappointed. I was super psyched going into the movie and was even going to see it in IMAX opening night. I ended up not going due to a race and I am glad. I got to see it in RealD and I will tell you the 3D was pathetic next to Avatar. The story was rushed and the acting was not too great. Sam had very little to work with imo. If it had been 2 hrs or more, it could have been great, but alas it was a let down.

allycat 04-30-2010 04:11 PM

EVERYONE was disappointed.. what is this.. i dont even!! wow..! it wasnt THAT bad! it was better than the original!

stdout 04-30-2010 09:33 PM

I'd give it a 4/10. It was disappointing in pretty much every area, really.

Apollo 05-02-2010 03:16 PM

The Kraken was only a few minutes long, pft.

Well... you're probably right.

I haven't seen it yet, and I haven't not seen it because of any reviews, since I usually end up liking/loving films many others hate (i.e. "The Postman" the "Planet of the Apes" remake, "The Happening", etc.). I just haven't seen it because I don't really care. I'll probably get to watching it later on DVD.
