I wish him luck with his move to NZ. :)

I can't blame him. If I could afford it, I'd definitely move to New Zealand. IMO, kilometer for kilometer, its the most beautiful country in the world.

And I can't blame people for thinking he's doing it to avoid an inevitable collapse. During those times when my thoughts move towards "What would happen in the case of a zombie apocalypse?", I find that the best places to be would be

A. New Zealand
B. Hawaii

Why? Natural beauty, arable land, island fairly far from heavily populated continent and quality fishing.

Not to mention, IIRC WETA is a New Zealand based company and New Zealand has become a hub of filming including Avatar itself.

New zealand is great but the "RDA" aka BP will be drilling here for the next ten years theres been protests but the government just put there heads in the sand and pretend nothing is happening. . . Bastars

You guys just need to either light a fire under the asses of the current Government, or vote in a totally new Government come next election.
Weather you agree with it or not, you have to admit, that the environmentalists won a major battle when the U.S. government told the Canadian Government what they could do with their of pumping crude oil across the United States. "Take THAT, RDA!!"

James Cameron keeps buying - more Wairarapa land for Avatar maker
Film mogul James Cameron has again extended his Wairarapa farm holdings, this time by 25 hectares.

Throughout this year, the high-profile Canadian director has succeeded in applying to buying chunks of farm land via the state authority.

The Overseas Investment Office released decisions this morning showing it had just approved three further deals, giving him clearance to buy the 25ha.

In February, Cameron got approval to buy two large farms - a 250-hectare working dairy farm and 817-hectare hillside property overlooking Pounui - in the South Wairarapa.

Then, in March he got consent to buy 10 hectares of freehold land adjoining the Pounui farm which mainly comprises of native bush."
