Sam's nervous about it apparently. A particular quote by Cameron got my mind reeling though "we'll have characters that are in and under the water." Jake will obviously be one of these characters, but I'm really hoping for some sort of sentient aquatic characters they interact with, webbed and scaley all living in a Corral Reef-like "hometree," just speculation/fantasizing.

Another sapient race on Pandora isn't too far fetched, especially if they occupy another ecosystem.

Every time I think about Avatar 2 being under the water, my mind goes back to the Red Letter Media review of Star Wars episode 1. And not in a good way. :(

I know why Sam is nervous: James Cameron will be there :P

That'll be interesting to see, really... however, haters are going to scream "After ripping off Pocahontas, Cameron's now going after Arielle, too!"

Sadly, there are always people fond of finding flies in the ointment. I'm just happy to see that he's actually working on it. Perhaps his moving to NZ (see the other thread) will also fuel his imagination... we're also still waiting for that novel, Jim!

This news is good! It's a tiny step toward the sequel!

Yeah Cameron doesn't have the uhh best track record when it comes to people and filming under water if the stories are to be believed.
