Where?
I'll kill all of them. |
Whoever came up with that idea is someone I would feel no remorse punching in the face.

Seriously, is it any wonder our environment is in trouble with people like this running around? Perfect example of the disregard of many for the natural world, and the same mindset that fuels other atrocities (like poisoning wolves for tar sands, the thread above ATM). |
The human race counts among its members the wonderful people I have met here.
Hard to believe the people in this article are from the same species. I think a taxonomic exception should be made. Seriously, for especially the young folk here... hold on to that feeling, and do something about this kind of thing when you get into positions of more power. I always had compassion for animals, and I remember when my friends in school did too. Then in high school, most of them lost it. It was no longer cool. I preferred to be uncool. That wouldn't be a bad epitaph, actually. |
china.....ofcourse, only in fuking china -____-

While this one in China is about one order of magnitude worse than previous ones in that these bags seem to be totally sealed, thus just killing the poor animals within hours, it does have a similar attitude to these ones: - IT Rush | Exploring The Latest Cool New Gadgets 24/7 (also sold outside China) or the common fish bowl with a lonely fish in a barren glass bowl. Yes, they do get food and air, so it is more like prison than a death chamber, but still it is appauling! So its not only China, but China certainly puts the insanity a notch higher in many aspects.

I already knew something like this happens some months ago, back then I signed a petition, now I just did sign this one.
This is so... wrong and aweful and terrible that it makes me wanna beat those people up. |
Who's the person who thought this would even be a good idea in the first place? What's the point of it anyway? O_____o I got nothin'

China. Enough said :(.
It is actually possible to create a sealed system which is sustainable, but not with anything so large (normally plankton/small shrimps) and in a larger container. |
its very hard to truely create a miniature biosphere that works. With luck, it may work to take just some muddy water and put it in a bottle. But some of these systems have shown flaws - like plastic bottles that are not totally airtight. and those balls would with the shrimps - these shrimps are actually starving. they can go for months without food, so people think they are doing well. AFAIK this only really works with communities of plants and microbial life, no higher animals unless youmake that a reasonably big sphere

:(
Animals are so important to this earth, and some of them are treated like objects. It's almost beyond comprehension as to why people could justify buying or selling these. |
That's sick and cruel :(
But how a person could see this as a good idea is beyond me. |
China, now isnt that a surprise :/
