Kaltxì.

Kaltxì ma ayeylan. Oeru syaw fko Snatxärem. I've always been a fan of the Na'vi language and AVATAR, but never thought to look up a site where I could actually learn about the language and communicate with other AVATAR fanatics. The inspiration came from yet another viewing of the movie on FX a few minutes ago. I thought to myself that there must be plenty of sites out there that are dedicated to teaching the Na'vi language. I looked it up on Google and found Vitraya Ramunong along with Learn Na'vi. I was so happy to find it.

The process will take a while, but I'm dedicated to learning the language and truly becoming one of The People (or as close as I can get). I think that the most complicated part will be getting my mind off of the English language. I have to enter Na'vi with an open mind. English is much different from other languages. I have confidence, though, and that's a good thing.

I hope that I fit in with the rest of you smoothly. I wouldn't want to mix in with a bad crowd if there is one. I'm just an individual who loves to study foreign languages and cultures. I'm hoping to make some good friends on here as I go. Oel ngati kìyevame ye'rìn. :P

Hi. Welcome.

There's no "crowds" here, I'd say. you'll fit in fine. Everyone fits in here. :3

Snatxärem 05-04-2012 03:46 AM

I'm glad to hear that, Iron_Jones. I love getting along with anyone and everyone if it's possible. Irayo for the welcome, too, it feels good to have a response. I've been on some sites where you could post as much as you want and be ignored. It made me sad, but I left those sites (thank Eywa for that). :awesome:

What's up?

Hope you enjoy yourself here; if you want some help with the language stuff, go hunt down Txona Unil Sta'niyu Rolyusi; he's the best one with the language here.

As for this place in general, come check out IRC; we're always looking for new people to chat with. Just click the "IRC" button at the top of the forum homepage, and then make up a username and jump in. There's more to it once you get into the chatroom (the link does all that stuff for you) but we can explain that when you get there.

There are a couple of people on the IRC channel that know a thing or two about the language too, so feel free to ask them.

EDIT: There's also our sister website, Learn Navi, (learnnavi.org, forums.learnnavi.org). They're the best resource for learning the language, although the forums there aren't always active. Many of us here are also over there, but some people from each community can be found on IRC.

Oe si irayo ngaru ma Human No More. I was gone for most of the day yesterday and couldn't get online to answer Mikko's question, so that was a big help to me. I'm sad to say that I have no artistic talent at all when it comes to making avatars and such for websites. The closest I've come to art is in my Computer Animation class at school where I made a movie called Puzzle Pieces. When you hit the buttons that I made, the puzzle pieces will make a design according to what the button says it will make. I'm actually very proud of it. :xD:

Irayo to everyone who came and gave me a warm welcome. I'm excited to be getting involved with such a beautiful language. It is truly an honor to be able to start learning it. I believe that the biggest complication that I will run into is knowing how to actually speak the language instead of just write and type it. I will have to learn how everything is pronounced (the accents, etc). :)

I can't draw either, don't worry :P

Good luck learning na'vi, it's hard but it is possible. I'm still learning..so far I have the alphabet down and how to sound out everything I'm just trying to widen my vocabulary and learn about suffixes and prefixes stuff like that. You'll make it I'm sure!

A belated, but warm Kaltxi to you! :war:
