If there are going to be several people or teams doing this, it would be great if the local newspaper, and TV Stations knew about it. THEN we could get a photo for the media to publish of all the different vehicles, and their respective fuel mileages. THAT would prove that a lot of us serious AVATAR fans are not just hung up on an "Escapist" movie, but that we PRACTICE what the real message of the movie was all about.

Public transit.

I can take the light rail almost anywhere in the city; it's powered by electricity as opposed to fossil fuels, and is electrically isolated.

After that, I usually ride my bike, which is powered by my very own reserves of adenosine triphosphate. I don't even own a car, and I've probably driven less than 300 miles so far out of the time I have had behind the wheel.

Again, if the meetup is held here, I win.

Real world means just that, the way things in this COUNTRY, not Portland. I can assure you that you won't find ANY light rail out in rural Montana, North or South Dakota, Wisconsin, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico. Texas, and you don't want to bring up Alaska, where one fourth of the state are licensed Pilots, because it is the ONLY way to get from where they live to a city and back.
The great thing about this Country, is that it was built around the right of FREE CHOICE, and a LOT of people CHOOSE to not live in a packed like sardines city. My, and most other people that live in rural America's definition of too crowded, is: Can you see your neighbor's house? If you CAN than you are getting too crowded.
THEREFORE, "Real World" means those that do NOT have access to "Public Transportation", how much fuel would THEY burn, to get to a city where the meetup is going to be held?

Heh, I can reach out of my bedroom window and touch my neighbor's fence. Their house is less than 6ft away.
