Neil Armstrong dies
BBC News - US astronaut Neil Armstrong dies, first man on Moon
Though I was born more than one decade after the moon landing, I always felt fascinated when I watched Nasa documentaries about the Apollo missions. Truly a sad day. :'( |
Indeed. I liked the picture which Tėtstewan posted on the LN forums:

RIP :(
I hope we can put a memorial on the moon for him some time soon... Another reason to go back :) |

but tragic news :( |
It meant so much to me to stay up late / get up early to see Apollo 11 on television. Setting foot on another world. It seemed nothing would be impossible after that. The projections of human space presence in 2001 A Space Odyssey were viewed as conservative. Sigh.

So sad. RIP to one of the greatest men of the 21st century. :'(
