Wind12 12-03-2016 07:48 AM

Clear and seasonably cold here, lots of frost on the ground even by midnight. Temp in the 20's ( NWS temp is not reading for my town right now) chance of some light rain tomorrow night, slight chance of some sleet mixed in. Here is something that I find interesting that I'll leave here...
Hawaii to get lengthy blizzard with 30 inches of snow!

:shock::shock::shock:

^Yea, that is pretty insane, to be fair it is said that light snows on the volcanic tops are not unusuall, they happen a few times of year, and strangely even in summer, BUT a snow of that magnitude is rare.
Here it was in the 50'sF yesterday, then the wind picked up last night, now it is sunny and cool in the 30'sF, then tomorrow we might have flurries and then Thursday we may not get much above 20F for the high, then lots of up and down rollercoster temps afterward.

These are the current conditions at 7am. I think I can officially say winter has arrived. That wind will cut you to the bone this morning.

whoa
We had this weather Friday, but now it's -6°C.

Wind12 12-20-2016 07:07 AM

Well this weekend was messy here, friday they called for a 20 percent chance of freezing drizzle, well the freezing drizzle started at noon and lasted through midnight that night, the city never pre-treated the roads, and the normally overly carefull school district didnt let out early, and nobody salted anything, so, the roads became bumper car madness, city buses sliding, salt trucks hitting parked cars, school busses not finishing dropping off kids until after 10 at night, some kids staying overnight at school. I-29 becoming a parking lot, and me trying to walk to work with my greasy work shoes on ice, hrh. Then Saturday we got three inches of snow, the arctic front hit, we hit -11F by Sunday morning ( with a 3 am wind chill of -24F) with a high of 6F on Sunday, now we are in the 20's, and they are saying by Christmas... possibly low 60'sF with a chance of thunderstorms, hrh.

Na'vi a Kepekmė 12-20-2016 04:22 PM

wow, safety is more important than your Murder King.

Wind12 12-21-2016 01:19 AM

^ yea the fast food indusrty is pure evil in my opinion, but the franchise thatowns the stores in my town is just hideous, they did though close the store down on Friday night which shocked me, but the store manager got into an accident after she left work, and it may have been her somehow getting the district manager to get them to close, but they were open Saturday, even though they were in the hole for payroll. As a matter of fact the company is so cheap, the light in the drive thru menu has been broke for three weeks, so you cant even see the stupid thing, yet, they stay open in a winter storm because there is a chance they might make like a dollar, lol :/ :p

Disco Scratch 12-26-2016 05:44 AM

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. This is how my day started at around 8am.

These were the current conditions just earlier at 11:30pm CST.

Wind12 01-07-2017 07:10 AM

Well we have had some ups and downs, 64F for Christmas with a squall line of rain and 50 mph winds. The past few days have been cold, with 2 inches of a dry powdery snow on Wed. Evening. Last night was about -5 to -10F here ( our city's NWS sitd was down so we had no official recording) today was 11F for the high, and its a balmy -1F (-18C)

Ja'k Dawsiin 01-07-2017 10:59 PM

i am currently looking at a foot of snow after a blizzard here in Virginia Beach, Va, from last night and much of today. it is 26 degrees F and a balmy 73 inside my soon to be ex-apartment where i am cleaning up stuff, packing a bunch of loose odds and ends, and getting ready for moving the furniture this week, to my townhouse across town. it is really damn cold because of the wind too. brrrrrr. :gwink:

Wind12 01-08-2017 06:25 AM

Stay warm Ja'k. Crazy blast of winter , here its calm clear and cold, dont know the official temp bdcause the local NWS recording station crashed yet again, started reporting yesterday afternoon, then stopped reporting again at 1 pm today. Lol

Ja'k Dawsiin 01-08-2017 02:54 PM

yeah, we got a ton of snow, roads are frozen and a complete mess on the secondaries, and even though it has stopped snowing, it is getting colder. brrrr. i had to crack the faucets at the new place and leave them dripping, such a waste of water but no choice at 17 degrees F overnight. yowza.

SaphirJD 01-08-2017 09:42 PM

Snowing like mad since some time now :D I want summer back ;)

Sight Unseen 01-09-2017 04:48 PM

Ice and snow yesterday, now it all melted and it's rainy and overcast. My favorite weather (I know. I'm weird).

Also, not in Houston right now. :P

Ja'k Dawsiin 01-12-2017 04:08 AM

well, most of the ice and heavy snow has melted in the rain of the last couple of days, still a lot of nasty muck and slush around, dirty slushy snow is the worst. sadly, the lost 4 days of snow upset my moving schedule, and my friends who were going to help out over the past weekend, have already departed on the next out of town job. i had to hire some movers for next week, so there went any extra funds from the closing escrow check. hopefully, next week is seasonable weather-wise, gotta get the furniture over to my townhouse. wish me luck! :)

hope all of you are having a good 2017 so far.

Overcast, with light winds and the occasional shower. England, basically.

Ja'k Dawsiin 01-17-2017 06:01 AM

cold, windy, but clear. getting some rain this week, but basically nice.

Wind12 01-25-2017 02:49 AM

Here over the past week we have had alot of low clouds and fog, today was windy and cool, but mild for Jan. Standards. Light showers moving through now, and wind and flurries for tomorrow. :p

Ja'k Dawsiin 01-30-2017 01:06 AM

chilly cold in the morning, windy cooler all day, mild chill in the evening.

Wind12 02-02-2017 07:30 PM

Right now it is mostly sunny with some high cirrus clouds, cold and dry, temp. 29F -2C, with a north breeze. We have basically been mildish, cloudy and blah except for today, but the temp swings are expected to continue, with near 60F possible again next week before it turns colder again, before we warm up after that, hrh.

Ja'k Dawsiin 02-05-2017 06:08 PM

is it Spring yet?! *sighs*

Ja'k Dawsiin 02-09-2017 03:54 AM

it reached 68 degrees today, a warm freakshow it was, but i guess it will drop into the 20s overnight, some cold projected for tomorrow. geez. these lo and hi extremes are giving me the stuffy headache. :/

Disco Scratch 02-11-2017 06:10 AM

Current conditions at 12AM

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/...0at%2012AM.jpg

Wind12 02-18-2017 07:17 AM

We had back to back days of record high temps yesterday and today, hitting 74F twice, very dry with our last mesurable precip 24 days ago. Was breezy as well with several grass fires in the region, we are forcast to have high temps 20 to 30F above avg. Through next Thursday, possibly going a week with low temps warmer than our avg. Highs for this time of the year.

Ja'k Dawsiin 02-19-2017 06:01 PM

it is unseasonably hot in the middle of February! i'm wearing shorts and sandals. holy cow! climate change is real.

Wind12 02-19-2017 06:24 PM

^The warmth continues here as well, 66F by noon expected to reach day number 4 in a row 70F or higher, at least the humidity is up a bit and there is a chance of a shower tonight, after 26 days with no rain/snow seeing reports of middles 60's by the noon hour all the way into Iowa at least.! They are saying our low tonight may not drop much below... 60F I have a feeling that this summer is going to be a monster.

Na'vi a Kepekmė 02-19-2017 07:11 PM

It's -3 degrees Celcius or 27 degress Fahrenheit here.

Wind12 02-22-2017 05:33 AM

Well yesterday we fell just short of 70F since it was cloudy all day, but it was 63F at 6am! In Feb. Thats crazy. Today was sunny and we hit 70F and they are forecasting 76F here tomorrow. We have crocuses blooming in our lawn now, Friday we will return to normal temps, at least for a few days, with highs in the 40's F.
Heres a good write up on "May" burary...

Ja'k Dawsiin 02-23-2017 12:14 AM

i think the damn groundhog was wrong this year, lol. it has been pretty warm weather here the last several weeks, and no cold/snowy/winter weather in sight. dare i say Spring may be coming early this year???

Wind12 02-23-2017 07:16 AM

Well we hit our record high for the day today/yesterday at 11 am when we hit 71F, then we kept going and hit 77F (25C) for the high today, making it officially the warmest week of high temps in Feb. for my city since records began. We have crocuses coming up, tulip plants growing and trees budding, also I saw a wasp today, hrh.

Exoblade 02-23-2017 08:28 PM

Wet and windy.

The UK is being hit by strom Doris. Luckily the the run isn't that heavy but it comes down fast which I feel is worse.

Just keep swimming ;) :P

Wind12 02-28-2017 07:17 AM

Well it snowed a bit on Friday, had a dusting, but it was gone with in 24 hours, now, it is warm again, and we will finish Feb. with another near 70F day.

Ja'k Dawsiin 03-05-2017 12:30 AM

it was 36F when i opened the garage door to go to work this morning. brrrrr. cold all day! :gshock:

Wind12 03-06-2017 08:35 AM

Here its 58F at 2 am, and the wind is sustained at nearly 30 mph, gusting to 37 mph. There is a chance of a thunderstorm tomorrow, but still lots of warm dry and windy weather forecasted. Not sure if it is weather related, but during the past few days there have been two major water main breaks in town my part of town was under a boil order for 29 hours, and now the other side of town is under one, less then 48 hours after the first one was lifted.

Ja'k Dawsiin 03-08-2017 10:51 PM

it started out windy and rainy this morning, and ended up sunny and in the 70s, and miles of traffic jams because everyone had spring fever.

Ja'k Dawsiin 03-19-2017 03:25 PM

what the blue blazes is wrong with the weather?! it's snowing here in Virginia Beach and it's almost April! smh

Wind12 03-20-2017 08:29 PM

Well yesterday here we had a record high of 88F on the last day of winter, just four days prior we had a morning low of 17F on Wed. Morning, so a 71F turnaround in less than 5 days, weather is still dry, have had a total of less than .20 inch of moisture in the past 60+ days, and that includes a day two weeks ago where we had a quick thunderstorm roll through with a tornado warning.
Right now we have a north breeze, with mostly sunny skies and its 76F.
