Is Colonel Quaritch returning in Avatar 2?
Obviously, this seems pretty impossible given the ending of Avatar, but I've been seeing rumors of this all over the internet. Personally, I love Stephen Lang and really enjoyed his portrayal as Quaritch, so I would like to see him return in the sequel. Has anyone else heard about this or would like to see him in the sequel?
Also, for all those Stephen Lang fans out there, I learned he's got a new movie coming out called The Monkey's Paw (which coincidentally, he also plays the villain in). Check out the trailer: Monkey's Paw | October 8: In Select Theaters & On Demand December 2016 can't get here soon enough! |
As long as I get to see Selfridge, I'm a happy boy.

No!!! Only I can come back to life!!! Just kidding... hmm... I think he may return to wreck havoc for some reason(s) unknown I think Grace will return as well, yes? If that is so and she can come back to life then perhaps he can as well or maybe it is just stock footage of her...? Either case; he is the perfect nemesis for Jake now being the clan leader; I would gladly like to see him return instead of them coming up with some other villain or human...

Personally I would like to see him dead and gone, but I will always keep an open mind, I too can't wait for Dec. 2016.

The actor was good at his role, so I liked watching Neytiri finish him :nsmile: but again I will always have an open mind to such things, I am just so ready for 2016 to finally see what happens :nsmile:

Well, sometimes I guess. :) :)

If they're smart they'll have a bigger, angrier soldier come in to take over.

Theory: Grace and (maybe) Quaritch might return to voice act (think Tree of voices) or act in previously unseen flashbacks or something similar.

Stephen Lang has dropped hints that he'll be back.

Yeah, I definitely have my doubts too, but it's kind of hard to doubt James Cameron at this point in terms of casting and storytelling. But I like him in anything he's in, and I'm sure he'll do an awesome job if he does come back.

He's dead.
This isn't bad cheesy soft scifi, so the general "clone" BS is out (cloning does not work that way...). |
That's not the viibe Stephen is giving off. :P

As far as I'm concerned, Grace coming back as the voice of Eywa makes a lot more sense than Quaritch coming back from the dead as a clone (as far as things in the Avatar universe go). Cheers! |
If Earth can invent/acquire/steal/reverse-engineer the ability to biotech needed to move minds around, then those are pretty much the same thing.

"Sir, Quaritch has been confirmed dead."
"Hmm. Can we recover the body?" "Why would we want to do that, sir?" "We can rebuild him. We have the technology." "We'll integrate what we can recover into our newest AMP suit platform" MECHA-QUARITCH. Seriously though, no. He's dead, and scavenging things were probably already eating him/laying their eggs on him by the end of the movie. |

I think the bottom line is, for better or worse, if James Cameron wants to bring Quaritch back, no one involved in making the movie is going to disagree with him. But yeah, either way, keeping an open mind. "Am I still dead?" -- Monkey's Paw | October 8: In Select Theaters & On Demand |
would at least be funny to see his ass kicked another time :D

obligatory it's probably pretty dangerous to assume anything at this point. sequels can be terrible, great, or sometimes both. |
