On the topic of pre-meetup: Considering I have never been to cali, and the meetup starts on the wednesday, i would very much like to experience me as much california as possible.

however bringing camping supplies like tent and all wont be easy considering i will be flying over. That said, if equipment can be taken care of, i am more than game to go camping.

I still don't have any camping gear, but I wonder how much it would cost to just ship the camping gear out there via UPS.

I will definitely try my VERY best to make it to the meetup -- really don't want to miss it! :)

If you want to go camping, I think it would be easier just to rent gear from a Sport Chalet or REI. There are no shortage of those places around Los Angeles.

...and yes, if you can go camping at any time in California before or after the meetup, I say do it! Unfortunately I don't expect to be available for this one, but I wish everyone well who comes to visit and explore the natural areas of my home state!

I love MeetUp promo videos! All are so different and so great. This one - 'clear and to the point' :) excellent.
I won't be coming this summer either - but I am saving my bucks for the GREAT meetup after Avatar 2! :rolleyes::D

Nice to finally know the date. Someone has been teasing me horribly saying he knew them but would not share.

Now I just need to scrape the money together for this :D

Is it weird that I'm already starting to dream about this meetup? :D I've been working on my cosplay since the last meetup ended and I'm redoing everything. And I swear that I WILL NOT forget my wig and tail this time! :P

July 9 - July 13... 2014?

Well, I know you're all Americans. From June 12 to July 13, 2014 it's the BIGGEST event in the Sporting world and on of the biggest in the WORLD. The World Cup. The July 13 date? The World Cup Final. I would not miss it for the world. The least one was July 2010 with my nation: Spain winning it. Why so popular? Because the World Cup happens every four years.

So, yeah.... gonna pass on this and I assume many Europeans who are fans will be passing it up, too.

:( 3rd year in a row the meetup is too far away for me to get to... hell.

I'll certainly go if I'm not still totally broke. I have almost no equipment, but I don't need very much to go camping. What I would like to know is where exactly camping will be happening, since the climate varies a little depending where we'll be.

Nope, I have a few. Tell me about your cosplay! The tail you had last year was okay considering it was thrown together the day before.

Camping....well that could be interesting. I've got plenty of gear. Sadly, I don't feel like hauling it though airport security.


Planning for the meet is fun, especially since it'll be a nice distraction/end point to anticipate while waiting for the school year to end.

I appreciate that. :) I don't want to give everything away, but I've made a bow from almost scratch and spent an evening making a brand new chest piece. I still have quite a few things to do, but I think that it will all be worth it. I can't wait to see what you have planned. :war:

I really have no idea what I'm changing this year, (ALL OF IT?!?!? NONE OF IT?!?!) I've been amassing supplies now that I have an income, but it's all just sort of sitting around with no direction or concrete ideas. I'm in sort of an analysis paralysis, but I'll figure something out.

I know what you mean, I'm trying to figure out what materials I need to make my pieces. It'll be here before you know it. :)

Will they for sure have cosplay? What day would it be? I'm trying to squeeze in three trips year. LA. Maryland, and Spain. Why is everything always time and money ?

I'm bringing autotronic ears to MOMS BALL. They have two sensors on them. One for your forehead and one clips on your ear. They sense your emotions and move accordingly. I need to right an article and put pictures with it. Ateyo has a link in cosplay to see them.:cool:

We're still working on the specific schedule, but as of now, yes there should be a proper cosplay day. It is most likely to fall on a day other than the studio visit, which day is still up in the air as we schedule other things and find a place for it.

EDIT: Calendar still in flux though so don't take this as the final word, but leaning towards yes.

Seriously wish I could come guys, maybe if I can get another job this summer I can come sometime next year and meet a few of you :)
