I want a new computer game for Avatar

Seriously. It's been 4 years since the last one.

4 years in Computer Time is a lot. Graphics and standards changed. Also, we know the story!

I've played the Avatar game on the computer in both English/Spanish and just Avatar (can't do RDA, sorry) and now... it's meh. No one's online in multplayer and I want a new AVATAR game.

A Avatar game with RPG elements

Hello Weka!
I've been thinking the same thing lately, What I would like to have in a new Avatar game is an Action RPG like say Mass effect, With a awesome engrossing story with dialog trees and even Love interests Mixed with the Bow and arrow combat like We had in the Tomb raider reboot, That would be a game I would want to play:D I liked the 2009 Avatar game, But with the Next gen games I've been seeing lately, A new Avatar game has the possibility to be such a Amazing experience, one of the things that makes Avatar such a Incredible Film is going and experiencing the amazing world of Pandora, So a new video game based off of future Avatar sequels or having a story all there own, Has so much potential I hope that they have something in the works:) And with online it could be Survival waves of RDA and regular MP stuff too.
I don't think they should have the gamer playing a RDA in any upcoming games ether. :war: Na'vi for Life!!!

I have yet to play the Avatar game. Is it actually good?

Crickett 03-24-2014 07:41 PM

I own it, but I haven't played it. Or the ios game which I own too.

Question: But Crickett, why did you buy them then?

Answer: Because the Avatar ios game was on sale for a dollar and because the Avatar game had just been de-listed by Xbox On Demand at the time, so I was worried I'd lose the opportunity to ever get it.

If you want to experience the beauty of Pandora-- yes. The story and character names change but the atmosphere is there. You either play as RDA or Navi and from there you follow your leader's orders to do things to either push Navi out or takes the RDA down.

You explore different locations and fill up your Pandorapedia by scanning your environment for fauna, animals, wildlife, humans and more.

You get to ride different species from Ikran to direhorses and more (as Na'vi). The Banshee is a bit awkward to control but it's managable.

Overall, the graphics are A, not A+. It's 4+ years old and now the standards change. It's a good play-thru but after you're done with the story, all there is left to do is explore the worlds by teleporting through an NPC and level up till you the highest weapons/armor.

The online play is handled by UBISOFT (Tom Clancey guys) and no one is ever on. I've only ever played 1 person on it and the RDA easily over-power Na'vi with their weaponry such as rockets and sniper rifles.

As I was ranked #1 in online multiplayer on an ubisoft leader board, I can say that you need to alter play styles between playing as the Navi and RDA. Navi can easily destroy the RDA given the right tactics.

But alas, no one is ever on anymore. I look forward to the next game coming out for sure:D

I honestly rather enjoyed the game. The control/action element was very well done. The game play reminded me a touch of the Metroid Prime series with the scanning ability. Sure most people might not like it, but I liked the system they had. The factions weren't exactly balanced though.

weka 03-25-2014 06:41 PM

The hardest part was getting use to the character being in the side left of the screen instead of when it's always in the middle.

Cyvaris 03-25-2014 09:24 PM

^That was very annoying and something that certainly hampered my enjoyment of the game. Still general mechanics wise I enjoyed how nimble everyone was. Certainly would like to see more shooters go that direction. Reminded me a touch of the olden days...sadly now it's all FPS/Cover based.

The worst part of the game was the storyline. Most apathetic main character ever, and the storyline was clearly ripped from something else (i.e. having an actual "war").

The Na'vi voice acting (and their dialogue in general) was just awful too. Shame, the game actually looked nice, and the Na'vi gameplay was fun.

Neytirislover93 03-28-2014 03:04 AM

Yeah It could have been so good! I still believe that we'll see more Avatar games in the future and hopefully they'll be done better in regards to the story line in everything.

One can only hope! Movie-licensed games are sadly a very hit and miss enterprise at the best of times.

Cyvaris 03-28-2014 05:32 PM

Except if they are LotR games, because all of those were awesome.

Debatable :P

Only LoTR related games worth a look are Lord of the Rings Online and the Third Age Total War Mod for Medieval 2.

Neytirislover93 03-30-2014 05:21 PM

That X men origins Wolverine game that came out was good, But what made it good was it branched off of the story of the movie instead of just focusing on the movie's core story line Like having the sentinels and stuff.
