[Confirmed] Sigourney Weaver will be in all 3 sequels

Not too long ago, Sigourney Weaver mentioned she would be back for Avatar 2. It's just been confirmed that she'll be in fact in all 3 sequels:

“It will be challenging for me. I can’t talk about it, but my part is a little different in each one. I’ll transform somewhat. We’ll have to talk again when I survive this. For now, I’m going to skittle around and enjoy this leisure time.”

I think we can all agree that we thought she would be back in a sort of Eywa like capacity. The mention of a transformation from movie to movie is then interesting. Can't wait!

Cheers :)

Shoot, I find this kind of disappointing. I know I should just have faith in JC, but I keep hoping it won't end up too cheesy.

Quoting that out of context for fun.

Back to topic though, yeah, I'm inclined to agree, I find bringing back dead people in fiction rarely convincing or well written. If you want a character to return in a sequel, don't kill them or at least kill them off screen so it's ambiguous. I think Quartich is coming back too? Not sure if that one's confirmed or not, Hell at this rate Tsu'tey's going to survive his stabbing.

Tsu'tey was holding a focus sash.

I too wonder why it seems like everybody who died is "coming back", but I also wonder about prequels, flashbacks, and the other kinds of shenanigans one can get up to with a giant organic supercomputer capable of storing entire minds by the thousands.

Awesome news

Yeah, I totally don't mind flashbacks.

Those shenanigans are an entire genre in themselves, but for some reason*, Cameron doesn't seem to want to play there.

(*One possible reason is that its immensly difficult to write an even half-decent story in a setting that has such a thing(s). :P )

I wish Trudy would "come back."

Well you know what, I posted this thread on may 12th, so this is kinda old news (this was a done deal then, so... what prompted this news cycle?) Don't get me wrong, any Avatar news = good news :)

Although it's now confirmed Grace will be a somewhat new/different character (**cough** Eywa **cough **) and if not, maybe an evolution spanning 3 movies, one can only hope :)

Edit: BTW, moar Sigourney = moar awesomeness (as if this wasn't inferred) -- re: Aliens (yeah, with an "s") check it out, the baddest JC/Sigourney cooperation until Avatar came along (Sigourney won the Oscar for best actress that year, so... :D)

Anywho.. my 0.02 cents, so fire away
