Oel zene wivan mì 'ewllti, furia Tsyeykru lu sti taluna Oeru ke tok poyä säftxulì'u.
"I must hide in plant, for this that is, Jake is angry for me not being at his speech." "I must hide in a plant because Jake is mad at me for missing his speech." |
Quote:
Nice one! A more complex one, this is. :) Some tips: 1) zene is vim. so can't be used with -l and -t. Oe zene. 2) wan is vtr. and means to hide [something]. To hide yourself, use <äp> infix: Oe wäpan = I hide (myself). 3) mì causes change in the next word. 'ewll, mì ewll. (' goes away) 4) taluna would be better than furia in this case 5) if furia were to be used, the sentence would be in this form: {furia [topic]},{comment} 6) sti is a verb already, but you used it like a noun. Sti already means "am/is/are angry". it works like this: Oe sti. = I'm angry. Tsyeyk sti. = Jake is angry. 7) see my previous posts about how tok works 8) po + -yä = peyä. All the pronouns like oe, nga, po, etc. all end in -eyä when -yä is put on. oeyä, ngeyä, peyä Sìlpey oe, oe ngaru srung soli. I hope, I helped you. :) |
Irayo nìtxan ma tsmukan, I thought about just using two "becauses" but I didn't know if that would have been much :) :) It took me a half hour to make that, HRH.

Hey, it's a pretty complicated sentence. The more sentences you make, the more you get used to it, and it takes less and less time. :) |
Pehrr lu Iknimaya? Oe zene tskxekeng sivi.
When is Iknimaya? I must train. |
Tsyeyk new Oeru lu nì'ul'ul txur.
Jake wants me to get stronger. Po si oel nìtsyìl vola 'anat "He made me climb 8 vines." |
Quote:
Quote:
Tsyeykìl new futa oe livu nì'ul'ul txur. Jake wants this: I be increasingly strong. "Jake wants me to be more and more strong." Pol oeru tsyeykìl vola 'anat. He me makes-climb 8 vines. Does it make sense what I did there? :) tip about "si": you generally can't use it except in pre-defined words such as srung si, irayo si, tìkangkem si, etc. This sense of "make <someone> <do something>" is actually done with the infix <eyk>. Have I made a blog post about that yet? If not, I definitely should, and will. EDIT: Writing up a draft now. -- Here's a crazy one I dug up from an old update post on the Learn Na'vi forums: Tsawa ngal kawkrr sngelit ke munge wrrpane ulte nìtut zene ätxäle sirvängi ngar oe, steyki fìtxan fte keng ke tsivun tsawteri fpivìl luke fwa sngä'i tsngivawvìk. “Your never taking out the trash and my having to constantly ask you to do it makes me so angry that I can’t even think about it without starting to cry.” |
sìltsana sänumviri, Irayo nìtxan!!!
Cool, can't wait to read the blog!! :) :) Ngaru lu lefpom fìtxon srak? :) |

Oh yeah, That reminds me, I need to finish that post... :) Srane, lu oeru fpom fitxon. Ngaru lu fpom srak? |
Srane!
Tìkangkem si lu 'änsyem. "work is completed" "I am off work" |
Quote:
The verb work is tìkangkem si, the noun work is just tìkangkem :) |
Furia oe tìkangkem sayi txonkrr, set Oe zene hivahaw.
"For this that is I worked overnight, Soon I must sleep." |
Quote:
"Sleep calmly/well" Nice work on that sentence! Though what you wrote is grammatically perfect, It would be better to use alunta in the middle than furia at the beginning. alunta really puts that feel of because/for/since. Furia just introduces a topic about which you have a comment to make. Oe tìkangkem sayi txonkrr alunta set oe zene hivahaw. Because I will work at night, I must sleep now. Also, your English was in past tense. Did you intend for the Na'vi to be in past? You wrote the Na'vi in future tense. <am> = distant past, <ol> = action complete, <ay> = future |
Irayo, Srane I messed up, hrh.
Set, Oel omum fì'ut :) |
Krra oel tsame'a kelutralit, Oe san, "Tsa'uru lu apxa!"
When I saw Hometree, I said, "That thing is huge!" |
Ngal zene niväk, taluna yafkeyk lu txasom.
"You must drink, because the weather is very hot." |
Quote:
san and sìk are already just spoken quotation marks. You still need a verb with those, it's almost always plltxe (this word also means say) You seem to use this structure a lot: *{Something}ru lu {adjective} When you describe something with lu like this, no markings are needed: {Something} lu {adjective}. For example: Tsa'u lu apxa That thing is huge A different structure you may be confusing this with is To have: {Something}ru lu {something} For example: Oeru lu ikran A banshee is to me "I have a Banshee." :) Quote:
-- Ewll Eywa'evengä oeyä eltur tìtxen si. "Pandoran plants are interesting to me." |
Irayo nìmun! Srane. I keep getting tripped up on transitive verbs like "drink" that don't have a subject I.e. Ngal zene niväk payt, and Nga zene niväk. tsa lu eyawr. srak? :) :)
|
Ngal näk payt
Nga zene niväk payt Zene is not transitive which is a main reason why its subject is not marked. New, even though it is transitive, copies zene and tsun by not marking its subject. Oe new niväk payt. Oe tsun niväk payt. An exception to the subject not being marked is this word order: Oel payti zene niväk. Where it copies off Oel ngati kameie, and its like zene niväk is being treated as a single verb or something. |
Oe tsun hena apxa tskxet.
Oel apxa tskxet tsun hena. "I can carry large rock." "I can carry boulder." |
Neytiri plltxe, san krr lu taron sìk.
"Neytiri said, "Time to hunt". |
Tsaram alusìng lu pxay ayikran, Nari si!
"That floating mountain has many Ikran, be careful!" |
Oeyä ikranru sunu payoang.
"My ikran likes fish." |
Tewti! Lots of posts! :D

So "That floating mountain" would be...
Tsaramur lu alusìng? :nsmile: |
Oe tskxekeng si sre tìkangkem.
"I exercise before work." :) :) |
"That floating mountain" = Tsaram alusìng
"That mountain is floating" = Tsaram lerìng See above about *<thing>ru lu <adj> ;) |
Irayo nìtxan ma 'eylan!
Yafkeyk lu som sì paynga' fìtrr !! |
Neytiril lu kerar oet sar si tsko.
"Neytiri is teaching me how to use the bow" |
I also left a sentence on your newest blog :)
|
Quote:
Tsa-fne-yafkeyk oe-ru ke sunu kaw'it! "That kind of weather I don't like at all!" Quote:
Neytiri is-teaching to-me way (<->) (one) uses bow. "Neytiri is teaching me how to use the bow" Some tips: 1) kerar (k<er>ar) already has the "is" baked in. <er> basically means "is ___ing" so no need for lu 2) As (I think) I said before, kar works like this: [teacher]-l kar [subject]-ti [student]-ru OR [teacher] kar [student]-ru 3) sar is already a verb, so no need to make sar into a verb using si. ;) 4) usage of "si" is basically restricted to the words already in the dictionary, like tìkangkem si, srung si, irayo si, etc. 5) and since the bow is what's being used, it gets -t. But even still, it was understandable attempt. :) Quote:
Oeru ke sunu soma yafkeyk kaw'it I don't like hot weather at all. |
Irayo nìtxan!!
Tompa zolup nìyol fìrewon. |
Neytiril oeti tìtxan seyki leye'krr fratrr.

Oel tamaron yerikit hu Ralu fìrewon.

Oeru ke sunu fwa oel tìkangkem sivi txonkrr.
"I do not like this which is I have to work overnight" |
Wou! So many posts! :D

I like the rain. Quote:
Neytiri makes me get up early everyday Nice one! :D Some stuff: 1) You got the syntax for <eyk> correct. Thing is though, tìtxen si means awaken [someone/thing]. I think just to wake up is txen slu (become awake). so She wakes me up is pol oeti txen sleyku (she makes me become awake) (also, tìtxen and txen have e not a. Typo?) 2) leye'krr is the adjective, so you say something is early or the early thing with this word. ye'krr is the adv. saying when/how you did something. You did it early. That's really it. :D Quote:
Krrpe menga kan tsat yivom? When do you two intend to eat that? Quote:
Maybe better as ...oe zene tìkangkem sivi... (can't use -l as is oel with tìkangkem si because it's a vin.) It's really cool to always see lots of nice new stuff here everyday! :D |
Irayo nìtxan.
(I will try to do more later, busy few days, lol :nsmile: ) |
I want to do some but I have to redo my flashcards first ;)
