I just don't know what's wrong with me. I probably ate enough sweets for everyone in this thread, and didn't feel too good after.

How did that go? Did you do it Na'vi style?

Yes' please answer.

She's pulling the string "na'vi" style in the photo.

Yes, we see that.

Moco Loco 12-23-2012 10:12 AM

I find the big challenge with that is holding the bow straight, which is somehow more difficult.

Zrina Ni'awve 12-23-2012 10:17 AM

Truth is, it is't good with me :D
I tried it bad technique, so my arrows fly left. Than Auroraglacialis advised me how (and when I looked at the Avatar again I saw she's right). But from that time I didn't archery so I don't have a experience. But on spring I'll go to the archery club, so we'll see :D

Yeah uh...good luck going "Na'vi style" when doing archery. It...it does not work well. Aiming is horrid for one, kick back is also a bit of a beast as well.

Cyvaris hides the place where he ripped off a big chunk of skin attempting to shoot a bow "Na'vi Style."

Regardless, looking good with that bow.

I "rediscovered" an old image a friend of mine made. Na'vi "me". Now I am no where near that ripped, nor is my chin that manly, and my hair is a good deal shorter now(it was actually braided when she drew this), but it's still rather good.

....this friend...does she still do these drawings?? :shoop: I want one.

I am FAR to used to using a bow "Native American Style" to ever try to change, no matter how they did it in the movie. By the way, some Hungarian speed shooters DO shoot that way, but they learn it from toddlerhood.

Cyvaris 01-28-2013 02:54 AM

I pull in the traditional "English Long-bowmen" fashion. Finally got up to 90 pound draw this year, though depending on what sources you look at I am not even half way to the what the typical 12th-14th century bowmen would have been drawing.

Sadly we have drifted apart, stupid University. I may need to give her a ring.

Nice picture, although not sure if it counts as a photo :P
