How would they get to earth?

I...... you know, nothing worried me more about Avatar than the sequels. I'm not worried about novelization, I'm not worried about the theme park attraction, I don't really know how the sequels are going to be good. People have been telling me for years not to worry because James Cameron is the master of making sequels that are better than the original.

I'm afraid for the franchise.

yeah this is getting beyond a joke really.

But I'd hold on until the major sites pick this up and we get confirmation. It could just be click-bait.

As for the leaked storyline, isn't that the plot of a fan fic?

I stand by my "Eywa is an insane planet devouring super consciousness/Eldrith Abomination." Clearly sending her agents to Earth is part of her plan to enslave the galaxy! Wake up sheeple!

...It's sci-fi, anything can happen. :P At least, in Sigourney's opinion, and I think she's getting that from Cameron.

It's been a while since the 2017 release date has been announced. Anyway, here's the confirmation Exoblade asked about.

Interestingly, Fox CEO has very nice things to say about what he's seeing from Avatar2:

“It’s a room... which is covered floor to ceiling with images, characters, worlds, settings. It’s the most amazing, breathtaking thing you’ve ever seen. His challenge is to put all of that in a movie.”

i prefer that jc takes his time and actually gets a scenario without major gaping holes and inconsistencies. as long as he doesn't go overboard with taking his time...

that they are actually writing the entire arc in advance and, last i read, making sure it stays consistent is actually a good thing.

I'm just surprised at the number of times the expected release of A2 has been pushed back, and that it still seems to be because of the script. I think shooting the sequels concurrently was a bad idea.

I think waiting this long to shoot anything was a bad idea. The hype and excitement of the original has faded away for most people.

I think they should've done it within a year or two while everyone was still suffering from PAD.

At this point, I'm just hoping that there will even be a sequel at all.

I'm leaning that way, but I don't want it to be rushed, as that will make it bad too.

I definitely don't want it rushed, but I can't wait to hear/see the words "filming has started"

I remember years ago when there was still the hype and there were rumors that the sequal was gunna come out in 2013 or 2014. We were like "How can we wait!?" Here we are in 2015 still looking years down the road for the sequel.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat as you guys. I'll be glad to see a sequel at all.

Maybe i'm being a pessimist but the longer this waits the more likely JC dies of something before these are all done. *hiss*
