Now I think we're all just waiting to hear the news that Principal Photography has begun on the sequel films...maybe sometime this month?? :)

Easier said than done. But I'm just saying.

This is what I've really been waiting to hear. I mean, according to another article in another thread the sequel (the first one, I assume) started filming last Friday, or at least was supposed to. It would be nice to hear someone high up officially say "yes! we are indeed filming!" It's great that there are now four films in the pipeline, and it's great that James, Zoe, etc. have hinted that the first sequel will be jaw-dropping...don't get me wrong, it really is great, but the enthusiasm in my head is muted and will stay that way until I know this thing is off the ground. I've heard James is a perfectionist and I can appreciate that, but I hope there's nothing wrong that's been dragging down pre-production.

Well, it seems like the actual shooting might have started.

I don't have a link for this but in a short video interview I saw a few days ago, JC said they have just started shooting the MoCap but it was all hush-hush.

But we do have some news today:

'AVATAR' Sequels Not Back-to-Back says James Cameron

Tidbit from the link:

“It’s not back-to-back. It’s really all one big production. It’s more the way you would shoot a miniseries. So we’ll be shooting across all [AVATAR scripts] simultaneously. So Monday I might be doing a scene from Movie Four, and Tuesday I’m doing a scene from Movie One. … We’re working across, essentially, eight hours of story. It’s going to be a big challenge to keep it all fixed in our minds, exactly where we are, across that story arc at any given point. It’s going to be probably the most challenging thing I’ve ever done.

Im so exited with next Avatar but waiting for it 2 more years is a pain we have already waiting for too long but im ok with this we have 3 more movies incoming anyways :D really want to see Neytiri and Jake`s kids i think they will be in movies too

Irayo, Jachyra, for posting this news! And good to know JC doesn't want to try to compete with the upcoming Star Wars films...I wouldn't want the Avatar films to be in direct competition with Star Wars at the box office.

Jim told us yesterday that he is still writing, whether he's polishing the scripts or still writing the story, we're not sure

i hope they start filmimg this year, it's already July.

I believe they're already filming some things because I saw a PSA James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger recently filmed about eating less meat and it was filmed at the AVATAR soundstage in Los Angeles.

holy crap he's only started filming now???? maybe???? and he wants to make two more sequels after this??????

i've been hearing stuff about how he's been filming 2 since like, 2013 and all this time he's only been revising the script?????

like james my boy i know you're a perfectionist but there comes a point where you have to actually deliver the friggin goods.
