Sounds like a great start for a fanfic, but i am quite sure nothing of the sort is ever happening canonically. The Disney-relevant canon from what I can tell is meant as the endstate for the films to leave the universe in. I agree 100% with it myself, that is the most proper and "most Avatar" resolution. Dystopian futurism is frankly a dime a dozen, doesn't jive with the messages and the impacts of Avatar unless it appears as a transient challenger to be soundly defeated or destroyed, and we're probably already going to get enough attempts at darkness returning to Pandora in the next 4 Avatar films.

I know that sadly it seems that right now though, humanity may never learn its lessons until its too late, but we have to keep trying. I'm excited to get to support Avatar/pandora here in a few weeks :) So'ha!

The constant stream of people throwing coins into a pit basically everywhere on the Ride of Passage queue doesn't fill me with a great deal of hope.

Someone slipped coins into the biolab. Just..... why?

Hmm, that's definitely not the kind of luminescence one would expect to see there.

It's actually quite a bit worse than that. That's the main area where people have been dropping coins, but they're everywhere. Outside in the first queue area there is running water so of course people dropped a ton of coins into it. There isn't anywhere to drop coins in the second queue area (the cave), but they're just everywhere in the nature reclaimed RDA base (third queue area) and the last two times I went on the ride, someone had slipped coins under the glass into the biolab. :(

I hope they clean it up and put up some signs to stop dropping coins everywhere.

Considering the continuing talks of Disney wanting to buy out Fox and their promise of endless Star Wars sequels, I can see them milking Avatar for a long time. You don't want to lock yourself into continuity in that sort of business model.

I don't think Disney would interrupt that revenue stream. ;)

Update: The coin pile in the above area has been removed as of 11-19-17.

Also, coins have been removed from the lab tables. Many coins remain in random places and bodies of water, but this is a start. We should keep posting and calling out this issue and bringing it up to CMs onsite.

I am fairly sure Disney donates coin recoveries to charity. However it's mostly US pennies, so it may as well just be people littering scrap metal around Pandora anyway.

If Disney wants to bankroll endless Avatar, hell yeah as long as it is good and Cameron/Lightstorm continue to drive like they have with Mo'ara. I just don't think it would involve continuing on from the dis canon. It would be counter to the thematic drive of AK and the Pandora venture overall to have the state of affairs seen in the park be threatened. It's not like it is necessary to undermine it to continue Avatar. Just linearly there is still a hundred years of time to play with between the 4 currently existing and in-production sequels and the beginning of the disney canon, and 30+ years of Pandora's discovery and exploration prior to A1 for prequels. Then there are alternate perspectives on events and parallel sequences of events to mess with, maybe in a TV series.

I suspect the Disney canon itself will never be seen in any film (beyond perhaps seeing the valley of Mo'ara in a much earlier state, since we do know that the Omaticaya clan has moved to around there by the ACE era). Disney has been constantly describing the Pandora and Star Wars land projects as intentionally original/unseen places and people but set in the same universes as the films.

As for the coins issue, yea that is extremely sad, but as long as there are some people who see there is still hope, it may be very, very small, but it is still there. So I am glad that they are still trying to send the message of hope and trying to get people to see. but sran, sadly if we are talking about humanity as it stands now it is far far far from where we need to be and if you ask me if we will get to the place where we need to be, or where the message of Avatar wants us to be, I admit I am very doubtful, but that doesn't mean we should stop trying.
