With the current release schedule I'll be 42 when the final film is released.

If I'm still alive. Hell, I'm doing good just to make it from month to month.

(I apologize for not being as active here recently)

11 years for a sequel. God help us.

Fighter-of-Wars 04-23-2017 12:23 AM

I hope JC lives that long. He'll be around 70 by the time the final one is released.

Well, the good news is though it does appear production is going to start and honestly that is the news that I have been waiting for, any date up til now was hypothetical because they hadn't even said when they were going to start making the movies, So I am excited that the Avatar team is gearing up to start work on the sequels, the delay does hurt a bit, and with the gap between 2021 and 2024 it does make me wonder if there is potential for it to end up being 4 movies from 2022 to 2025, the 11 year wait for the first sequel is a long time, but then again that is par for the course for JC, he is known for taking is time on his projects, and with what he is trying to do it makes sense, but it does stink having to wait that long, that being said I'll wait as long as it takes :) I do feel though for people that have become fans of the franchise and have been waiting that might have trouble making it to all the sequels, due to age or other factors( frankly it could happen to any fan) :( but I hope for the best and those who want to finish this journey are able to :)

Jachyra 04-23-2017 11:36 AM

To continue Wind12"s point, JC has always spaced out his work,:( i.e. T2 was released in 1991, Titanic in 1997 and Avatar in 2009. JC likes to take his time to deliver the goods. Avatar2 was never going to be released in 2018 being a 4 movie production and all.

So here we go, starting in December 2020, we'll have an Avatar movie (almost) every December for 5 years and that's what I'm pumped for.

That being said, god I wish we could go back to Pandora sooner :shoop:

Cheers!

Commanda89 04-23-2017 06:41 PM

This is good though. They're FINALLY working on it. Pre production is big news. Still gotta wait 3 years though haha

Wind12 04-23-2017 08:16 PM

Yea the production is the big news, with out that, all the dates that came out before were like chasing the Ikran, the closer you get , the farther away the Ikran, but now finally, the sequels will be in progress as each day moves along :)

Pretty much my view (not that I expect to be allowed on to the set to observe). It ain't filming 'til it's filming!

-the heat death of the universe

good GOD cameron you canNOT keep pushing back like this if you intend to actually release your film. you SAID you were working on a sequel literally months after the first one came out, then you said you were STILL working on it every time hte expected release date came and went.
you're using up all your goodwill, buddy. keep at it and nobody's gonna go see the sequel simply to spite you

During the filming of Star Trek Beyond and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Zoe did a lot of snaps on Snapchat and posts on Instagram dressed as Uhura and Gamora. She even did a post about her My Little Pony character fairly recently. So I'm sure that we will see a picture of something AVATAR related on her social media when filming begins even if it's just a hint. If you aren't on her social media YOU SHOULD BE. Otherwise you'll miss out on stuff like this - https://www.instagram.com/p/BTaPjX2h0tD/ (It's a video). :)

I'm a big fan of Neytiri so I don't think I could bring myself to not see the movie. Although, I probably won't see it in cinema because my local cinema is basically used as a daycare. There's literally standing room only in the twelve screening rooms available and you have children playing tag in the aisle. The closest nice cinema from me is fifty miles (an hour away) and a two hour round trip is a bit much for someone who doesn't drive.

This is James Cameron we're talking about and we all know he knows how to put on a top notch production, but with all the delays and with AVATAR being the last project he's going to work on I will say that it better be a great story and the graphics need to be just that much better. Neytiri had better look so freaking real that it causes boyfriends to break up with their girlfriends, women to become lesbian, divorces among married couples, human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!

According to both Zoe and Sigourney in separate interviews, they begin shooting late summer/early fall! :D

Considering that there will be a second Top Gun movie in 2019, 33 years after the first one, we can expect to see Avatar 2 by 2042. :P

I-amRadeon 06-12-2018 09:52 PM

oh well, since they are making us wait so long for the sequel i do expect some Amazing computer graphics (and an Amazing plot too) do not disappoint me James cameron!!! LOL
