To me it is the people and their way of life. Obvioulsy right next to it comes the physical connection of the beeings on Pandora which is deeply integrated in the life of the people and probably inseperable.
Next in line would probably be the Ikrans - gotta try hanggliding soon  |
The animals. They just look so cool. Especially the ikrans. They are my favorite.
|
Self peace, Freedom, weather, Na'vi, Ikran, absence of our society......
I guess everything over there. |
Easy.. The flying mountains or the glowing plants in the dark.. This just looks so beautiful and fascinating :)
|
Probably the Na'vi.
The mountains and the bioluminescent forest come very close though. |
Bioluminescence. Peace. Freedom, too. The absence of insanity and societal illusions. Real community and unity.
|
Just found some more bioluminescence on Earth articles: ISBC - International Society for Bioluminescence and Chemiluminescence and Bioluminescent trees will replace streetlights?
I want that glowing tree ;) |
Wow, bioluminescence tree replace street lights could be so nice. That will put some nature in our artificial citys.

Imagine if we could alter the genetic(?) structure of trees to give out light. Imagine the money each year that would be saved of energy and the help we'll be giving the environment. |
Favorite Thing About Pandora
imagine how beautiful they would be

You know, I wrote somewhere that Pandora to me seems like a possible future in a bioengineered world. An organic internet, transportation methods that can be directed with thoughts and require basically no maintenance, countermeasures against illnesses, bioluminescent lighting,... ;) In a way this would be closing the circle.
Regarding biolumie plants - I think from what I have read, that a major problem is the production of luciferin, the substance that gives the energy for the glow. It is costly to produce for the plant, so the plant would possibly not manage or grow only very slowly. most biolumie organisms use it only sparesely or only for short times (fireflies). But if it would work, it would be great. Sadly, bioengineering bears so many risks for the environment. I mean, I would not mind for the biolumie genes to spread, but if it weakens the plants at the same time, this could be really bad also... OTOH, Monsanto produces GMO plants with much worse properties and GMO contribute to 80% of US crops, so better to have biolumie spread than genes that produce pesticides in plants and kill bees :( . |
The freedom landscapes give to you, and naturalism... I so wish to getaway on a planet with nature that type and unharmed by industry or pollution. Bioluminiscent points every being has on the body are something like nothing ever seen and they fit perfectly in Pandora's contexts.
