We are the future.

The community on AF fell apart once Lon took over. So now we made this.

Well , I wouldn't call it a rebellion , it's just a fact that people liked the "old" forumstyle alot more , it gives you a feeling of being in a Avatar-Forum , not some Star-Trek/Gaming-Forum or whatever .

Plus this forum represents the people who are the community , not the will of a single "Admin" , so I definately would like to see it flourish and most of the people who I met in the old forum come to this place ..

Besides , welcome to the real community :)

Tsmu`kan 03-14-2010 07:26 PM

Basically, the way I see it, there is no real admin. Admins and mods just keep things clean.

The community decides what happens, not us alone.

We WILL put up a poll if something will change, and we WILL listen to the People.

THIS IS OUR FORUM!

Well, the old board simply missed the true spirit. Too much Changes, too much open enemy missiles... Time to return home where we all belong, in a group of friends :) Everyone should come here.. Well, as long as they are valueing friendship too :)

It's not a rebellion as such, it's an effort to get back to how AF used to be. To try and regain that friendliness and sense of closeness that it used to have, which has recently been replaced with such a negative atmosphere. To have admins and mods who take part in and listen to the community.

Welcome :)

This is how the world should be!

Great job on pulling the strings to get this community back up and running!

SaphirJD 03-14-2010 07:57 PM

Sacred Tsahaylu 03-14-2010 07:58 PM

This is not an insurgency! Just a place for suggestions to be heard, and sometimes answered :P

I was going to post in this thread, but then realized that everything worth to say about this, you have already said. :D

So yeah, this thread explains it quite nicely.

Enjoy your time here Neytiri.

Nektukan 03-14-2010 08:13 PM

yarr indeed Eltu, I have nothing more to say either.

Welcome aboard Neytiri.

It's just us :)

The site is the haven for people who loved the old forum. The in's and out's of how this came to pass may be controvertial, but we are all friends, and we are all a community :)

This is how I've always seen the job of an Admin or Mod. I've held several positions like that in various social communities in multiple locations (online forums, MMO guilds, etc) and the successful ones were always the ones that didn't try to force things upon the community. Let it grow and maintain it, but if it ain't broke DON'T fix it.
Someone once said on AF that [in response to the style changes] "innovation crucial and change is inevitable." Change may be inevitable but communities != businesses. If we find a formula that works, there aren't a lot of reasons to change it up.

Eltu 03-14-2010 08:25 PM

I totally agree with Tsmu`kan and Khirzask :D
