I dreamed about Pandora
 

So this is a thread for all the people who had dreamed about being on Pandora; both by lucid dreaming or accidentally.

I had the last night one: I was part of the Avatar program, my company was in the middle of nowhere and I believe we were running out of food, so I went into the link bed. As it closed the interior became blurry until I could see the jungle at night instead. The settlement was placed just before a hill, in some kind of bamboo and tall palm woods; while the hill had less plants on it. I rode an Ikran and flew around it with a bow and some arrows, and hunted two Thanators, gathered some bugs and fruit and finally went on a big branch to cook some of the food (hey, I was hungry). When I finally came back, the sun was rising and I was talking to some of the crew about what had happened that night.

I had much fun with it, to be honest; I wish I had that kind of dreams more often.

I've dreamed a few times. One of my favourites, which I've had a few times, is like the part where Jake becomes one of the Omaticaya, except it's me :)
I love that one, but then when I wake up it just makes me really depressed for ages...

I've also dreamed of flying on my Ikran before, and a couple of times of lying in a hammock with Neytiri :)

I have no idea how to have a lucid dream, but I've managed to accidentally have what I guess might have been one twice. Both times though, I could feel myself waking up and I was just desperately trying to stay asleep, which wasn't so nice :'(

I've also had one dream, which I can't really explain properly, but it was with Neytiri again, and since then, I almost feel like I know her, partly, I See her.

THIS! Almost exactly the same thing happened to me! I can't remember when, or what I dreamed about her, but I suddenly feel like I know her in real life... :S

Also, I NEVER had a dream about Pandora... :'(

i dreamt about Pandora a couple of weeks ago... and well, I was Jake, and with Neytiri we were running because of an earthquake, it was really WTF (i lived the Chile's 8.8 earthquake so maybe that's one of the reasons) anyway it was really funny :D :D :D run in Pandora ... that's priceless

I've had a fair number of dreams about Avatar (and more with Avatar elements), but only a few specificaly about Pandora.

- If you've seen Armageddon, you know AJ (one of Bruce Willis' character's workers) and Grace (Bruce Willis' character's daughter) are in love. In this dream, Grace and AJ are Na'vi, and they mated for life inside of a bioluminescent cave full of glowing vines with a glowing pond. When they finished, and came out of the cave, they were intercepted by a Samson being flown by Bruce Willis.:D

- A seperate Russian company has begun sending stuff to Pandora as well, and they have a bunch of shuttles that look kinda like An-124s. I was a Na'vi on an Ikran, and I was watching a bunch of these things float around the Hallelujah Mountains.

Hmm I had one a few days ago..
It was in 3rd person but Jake as Turok makto was attacked by humans in sydney and next thing I know he was swimming past an oil rig in the ocean..
He was atop the oil rig then and having a conversation with Max over his audio link about intestines which Max dumbed down for him and then telling Max not to ask him about you know what with Neytiri >.>

I have had many dreams of Pandora. I can't remember what exactly happened and tbh I don't even want to... dunno why, I just like the idea of keeping these two worlds rid of each other. :P

I have to be the worst dreamer ever. I haven't had any good Pandora/Neytiri dreams yet. Been trying for 2 1/2 months.

Don't worry -- you're not alone there. :) Have you tried lucid dreaming?

Yeah i've read about it, I think it would be amazing. I try to write down dreams I remember but don't really know where to go from there:(

I too have dreamed of participating in the program ranged from Avatar and I walk through Pandora. It was fun because I learned all the secrets of Pandora and the Na'vi with Jake :shy::) and taught me to take my own Ikran. It was magical. I want to repeat!! :D

It's weird, I never used to dream at all, but since Avatar, I find I dream a lot, probably most nights I remember having a dream, even if I wasn't sure what it was, and I've dreamed about Pandora and the Na'vi fairly regularly.

I had a dream where I was tasked with finding the Omaticaya a new home, I was a leader of a kind of "scouting party". We were flying around on our Ikran looking from above when suddenly toruk comes from nowhere. We all dive and the rest of the group scatter leaving just me being chased by toruk through the jungle. After making a few sharp dodges and having some very close shaves, toruk seemingly gives up and I land my ikran, amazed at what had just happened. I go over to a river for some water and again toruk comes from nowhere, but this time lands next to me, bows his head and extends his tendril for tsaheylu. He had chosen me to be the next toruk makto. I make tsaheylu and fly back to the tree of souls where everyone celebrates and I and the rest of the clan fly off on our mounts. We flew around pandora for hours before I woke up.

What was most amazing was the way everthing felt so real. I could feel toruk's leathery skin under my hand and the wind blowing through my hair. It was, for want of a better word, epic.

I haven't really researched lucid dreaming (all I know is the "write down dreams you remember" part), but someone else reading this thread may know what to tell us. :)

Hmm. I've always dreamed -- I just never remember about what, exactly. I do know that I haven't had any epic Pandora dreams, though.

My only dream of Pandora was walking through the forest at night, stepping lightly, silently and looking around in wonder. I seemed to be following a 'vein of light' as we see in the movie. Each step I take the ground lights my steps. I am compelled to keep going - I feel like I am being pulled. I crest a rise and there is a small valley with the Tree of Souls. I approach and kneel among the tendrils. Looking up into this awesome tree an overwhelming ache fills my heart because I have no queue - I am only human. Tears fall from my eyes onto the soft moss as I long to be one of the people. Then a deep feeling of peace and love and oneness with everything envelopes me and I know Eywa has heard my heart. I woke up crying very hard because I did not want to leave there and I wanted the feelings to remain forever.

I have not had this dream again, but if I think of the peace I felt from Eywa I usually fall asleep quickly and sleep well.

That's so sad... :'(

I know what you must have felt there, I have felt it in some of my dreams before...
When I wake up, I really don't want to do anything.

The only Avatar releated dream I've ever had was like 5 minutes long.
I was Trudy and I was flying around in the helicopter. I recall flying over the the Stone Arches and then I woke up. :S
It wasn't very eventful.

I had a really weird, vivid dream last night (non-lucid unfortunately). Probably has something to do with watching Red Planet before bed. :P

I was in human form, but befriended the Omaticaya clan while on my tour on Pandora. I fell in love with a beautiful Na'vi girl (though not Neytiri, and DEFINITELY not Ninat:P). On my last night before I was to depart for Earth I taught her the Waltz and we danced under the Tree of Souls. It was magical.:D

Then the next day after boarding the ISV, I was being led to my cryo chamber, and I said "screw this" and flew off to an escape pod. I was being chased by a few of the on duty crew members, but I out raced them and locked myself in the pod, put on an exo pack, and released it. Unfortunately on the way through the atmosphere it began to break up, and I blacked out as the tangled parachute came out.

When I came to a bunch of Na'vi were standing around the smoking crater, including Jake, Neytiri, Mo'at, and my girlfriend. She light-heartedly called me a skxawng for doing something like that, leaping from orbit in a rickety space capsule, and we embraced similar to the scene between Neytiri and human Jake.

Then I woke up, obviously feeling like crap.:(

Nice dream... I haven't dreamed for a few days now :(

I don't know if I'd be missing much, my dreams don't seem to last long anyway..

It's not strange. It's absolutely normal. Dreams are like reality which is just made by your brain. That's why you don't wake up when strange things happen, your brain thinks it's all real. :)

I see a lot of dreams every night, and then randomly remember them during the day.

Like:
I see a dream that my cellphone isn't in the pocket it usually is. I wake up not remembering the dream, but then later, notice that the cell phone IS actually in the pocket where it was last night, and still is today. I clearly remember the phone wasn't there while ago, and.. as i was asleep while ago it had to be a dream.. :)

I only had one dream, that was really special, I mean ,the feeling I have from it, is that was a very fast dream.. my character was like Jake, I think that was Jake (dont remember) and took place in the Home tree, just the part which Ney shows to Jake her Ikran and tells him that when he is ready he can get his own Ikran...
was really fast I don´t know why... but was was bright and colorful :)
this was the only dream that I had at the moment.. hope to have more dreams about AVATAR!

So, I've had quite a few interesting dreams about this movie. I'll start from the night after I saw it:

About three weeks ago, I was thinking to myself "Meh, this movie looks okay-ish. It's about to go out of theaters anyway, so I guess I'll go see it"

~5 minutes into the movie: "hey this is sorta cool..."

at the end: @____@


It was very unexpected. I spent the next six hours or so thinking deeply about the movie while going about my daily tasks. I am a biology/environmental sciences student, so the movie appealed to me greatly, but no matter which aspect of the movie I thought about, my thoughts always wound up being about the Na'vi. I soon swept the thoughts from my mind as I sat down to do some homework that night before going to bed.

Then the dreams started.

I was in my bathroom, shirtless, and I was washing my face, having just shaved it. It was dead silent. I was going about my business, when I suddenly got very close to the mirror, and for some reason began to focus intently on my right eye. As I looked at it, it began to change. It got bigger; at least three times as big as normal, and it took on an almost animalistic look. Then the color of my iris began to change; it went from my slate blue/green to a green, then green-yellow, and finally settled on a rich yellow, with just a hint of green. I was freaking out during this, but I couldn't move; no matter how much I willed myself to step back from the mirror, by feet would not budge. Finally I began to step away from the mirror, but then the dream faded into darkness, and I woke up.

I went back to sleep, and I forgot about the dream until between classes the next day. When I remembered it, I suddenly understood what the dream was about. I was a little weirded out, and I decided I was going to take a break from thinking about Avatar for a while to avoid any more strange dreams.

It didn't work.

The next dream was far more vivid and palpable than the first: I was lying in what felt like a pile of wet dirt and leaves. I could hear hushed whispers all around me. I tried to open my eyes, but all I could see was a bright white light, like the sun. I finally regained my vision, and I realized that I was lying face-down in leaf litter and dirt. I was somewhere in a huge forest, and there was a large tree in front of me. I sat up on my knees, and turned around. To my great surprise, I was surrounded by eight or ten Na'vi. They were mumbling something and pointing at me . I turned back around as I put my hands on my knees and tried to get up. I fell back down as I came to the shocking discovery that my hands were BLUE. I moved them out of the way in panic and realized that my knees and legs were blue too, with light cobalt stripes. I stood up in a panic and turned around; somehow I stood at eye level with the Na'vi that now approached me. One of the Na'vi lent their hand to me and mumbled something at me. Before I could respond, everything faded and I woke up.

But I still wasn't done. Before another week went by, I had another couple of dreams.

The first one (#3) started the same way as the second one, except it was in third person, so when I got up and turned around I could see my whole Na'vi body, and my face retained the majority of my features, minus my sideburns and eyebrows. It was also a bit longer; after I was helped up by the other Na'vi, the dream ended with me walking off into the forest with them. I don't remember where to, I just remember walking somewhere. The events between my "waking up" and leaving are very difficult to remember though; That particular dream had gotten garbled by other lucid/vivid dreams that night.

The second one (#4) got very badly garbled, but I can still remember some of the important parts. All I can remember is being Na'vi again and meeting a Na'vi that looked like Neytiri somewhere outside of a hometree-like tree with all of these huge, green-purple vines around it, and talking to her about learning something. She sort of scowled at me inquisitively and then all I remember is flying.

Like I said, that one got really garbled amidst a couple of other non-Avatar dreams that I can remember much more clearly, so don't look at it and go "OMFG NEYTIRI!!"; I just remember being a Na'vi again and talking to an attractive female about learning something, but she really looked a lot like Neytiri. Then I just remember flying really high above the ground somehow.

I am not making these up, and I'm not posting it out of sensationalism or because I think I am special. I have very vivid, realistic dreams almost every night, and can often remember them when I wake up. Sometimes they are so lifelike that I wake up and I still think I am dreaming for a few seconds, and sometimes I can literally tell the people/things in my dreams that I have to go because it's time for me to wake up because my alarm is ringing.

I would suggest to anyone looking to dream of pandora, try meditation. If you can really get into it you can have fantastic 'visions' which is kind of similar to lucid dreaming. After a good medtiation session you will feel peaceful and refreshed.

In my opinion, it's a feeling that's tough to beat.

I had another dream.

This time, it started out as a dream of me helping someone tear out an old bathroom, because they were having their house remodeled. I was removing a tile backsplash from a wall, when I glanced at the bathroom mirror. It was broken; the owner of the house didn't want it any more and he said that I could trash it, so I had hit it with a hammer out of boredom, so the corners of it were shattered. When I looked into it, I began to focus on it as if nothing else mattered, and the surrounding space turned dim and hazy. Then, like in the first dream (posted a few pages ago), my body started changing. I could only see from the tops of my shoulders and up, but first my face became longer and more narrow, my cheekbones became more prominent, and my eyes grew bigger and changed color (again like in the first dream). My ears grew longer, and my hair began to turn darker and blacker. Finally, my skin began to turn a vibrant blue, and the space around me dissolved and began to turn green and leafy. Then, finally I.......WOKE UP!

There was construction going on nearby outside my house, and the window to my room is facing in that direction. Something made a loud clanging noise and I woke up.

At first I found these dreams really strange, but now I am starting to crave them. I can't say I've experienced anything quite like dream #3, and I have not had much luck in getting back to that one again.

I had an absolutely amazing and realistic dream last night...unfortunately I cannot tell you about it here...definitely NOT PG rated...lol

I guess I don't really know how I do it. What I do know is that when I try to bring about these dreams by thinking about Avatar or listening to the soundtrack/watching clips, it doesn't work. I listen to them quite frequently during the day, but when I do at night, it doesn't seem to help. What has helped is getting more sleep than I actually need. During the week, I usually get 6-7 hours of sleep each day, but on days when my classes don't start until later, I get 8-10 hours, and these dreams keep happening on days when I have gotten 9 or 10 hours of sleep, particularly between the hours of 5 and 9 AM. I am also just a very vivid and lucid dreamer, as I explained in my original post, so quite a bit of this comes to me naturally.

So, if this pattern continues, I should have poor chances of having another Na'vi dream tonight and moderately good chances of having another one on Wednesday night/morning.
