I'd give this drawing a 9/10.

Everyone else pretty much said why.

But it is very good.

Kaltxi ma Navi,

I've missed fi tsenge. She's virtually finished, just few aspects of shading to go; lost a bit of texture and gained over-enhancement of shaddow here and there on the scan.

But I love her :P :)

Tsutey next then, another year :awesome:

That drawing is amazing. Very nice.

How long did it take you to finish it?

Tu'te 10-24-2010 08:13 AM

Kind words Banefull, thank you.

The braid work was the most time consuming, so tiring on the eye, I could only manage 20-30mins then I'd have to stop. I'd say about 100 hours?

Beautiful :)
Makes me wish I could draw...

Bit of bump, but just let you all know I'm still here and will be posting up a new Neytiri, soon....just putting final touches on..essentially enspired by the half face on the DVD/BR box cover.

ICu soon ma evi :)

Neytiri or her sister, you choose :)

ti kamie ma navia,

As promised her she is again, she's about finished just bit more work re shading. I tried a different approach this time my keying in the pad (shame I chose the cheap one) then using a rubber to bring out the highlights. You can see I'm trying to use the technique to bring a light sweat to her brow...very difficult (for me anyway).

Hope you love her as I do :)

I really like youre last drawing, in the drawings over this thread you really seemed to have developed a certain style and i really like that. You can really see your work evolve.
To me its seems you work is very two dimensional and then you try to turn that into 3d with shading. Especially in the last drawing you are pretty far away from Neytiri one on one, yet you do capture her essence with the style you use.

If thats on purpose or not i dont know, either way i really like it :)

I see the start of drawing this way with alot of fan art so i tried to show the other way of drawing by setting up a quick sketch. Hope it shows the different way of starting (this set up took less then 5 mins) and what effect it has on the end result ( a more realistic 3d feel). In the end its all 2d ofc :P

Again its meant as constructive feedback and also a bit in general, i really like the way you are evolving youre drawing style and very much wonder how you would do an entire body that way :)

Fieorx,

Forgive my very late reply to your advice..I've been so busy with clinical placements and writing essays/dissertations etc etc.

Yep, I can really see how your framework forms the basis of the final 3d perspective -creating these framework sketches I've found particularly difficult and so revert back to say, starting with the eye then using that as a point of reference...which I know is rubbish :)

I'll go back to basics an just play with framework perspective a little more before the next detailed drawing.

Thanks for your time.

Not bad bruh.

I thought with the name "Neytiri, go easy on me" that this was gonna be some erotic tale about neytiri taking advantage of you :P

I hadn't given that a thought, but yeah I'd be up for it :)

Been so busy with job hunting and family but next drawing (tsutey) should be up soon. I've been practicing construction and proportion, just blasting out quick (rough) sketches before I attempt the main version - the aim being to achieve the correct form/direction of the face etc.
