[Rumor] Avatar sequel titles revealed
 

Hey guys, according to the BBC, here are the sequel titles:

Avatar: The Way of Water
Avatar: The Seed Bearer
Avatar: The Tulkun Rider
Avatar: The Quest for Eywa

It's a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt until confirmed.

Very interesting. Though I am taking it with a generous helping of salt for now, that doesn't stop me from wondering what those titles could mean.

interesting titles there, hmmm. i think Seed Bearer may be referring to a new Hometree seedling that will be planted in a new area for the Omaticayans.

I would think it has more to do with the atokirina (Seeds of the sacred tree) than a new hometree. I hope I am wrong, but I would be very surprised if anything like hometree is seen again. From what I saw, hometree seemed to be one large tree with several smaller trees growing inside of it providing the internal structure to provide load bearing support as well as the means for the Na'vi to traverse up and down. That kind of set up seems like a one in a trillion fluke. Not to mention, even if there was a single seed that bore a tree like hometree, I would think it would take literal thousands of years to grow. Think of how long it takes a redwood tree to grow. Now imagine how long it would take a redwood tree to grow if it was ten times the size. Or a hundred times the size.

Anyone else here think that Jachyra is Lightstorm PR? Information like 3 seconds after it goes public to maintain plausible deniability.

well, if he is a Lightstorm rep, i have some news for him. promotion is the name of the game, sir, and you're doing it all wrong.

let's review, shall we...?

ToS and LN are the only active Avatar fansites left. AF gone, Prime gone, Avatar Sea Of Blue is for sale and the domain is offline, and the other smaller sites are completely dead, no traffic. most of the longtime casuals are long since gone.

i have noticed a lot of the Avatar fanart/edit accounts are either offline or deleted, and several huge members from AF/ToS that did edits, have left deviantart and are no longer in this arena, sad, very sad only.

there is literally nothing i can reference today, that promotes Avatar and the future sequels. nothing. there are news articles of course, but no promotion. it doesn't matter that the first sequel is nearly 2 years away, you have to promote films and content like this way in advance, and really try to bring back all the fans who lost interest in the last nine years. that means putting in some actual time to bring us new material.

you have to put out some gradual word of mouth by releasing some merchandise such as the original film novelization, some 2019 and 2020 calendars, a reprint of the Avatar Survival Guide, those long-awaited DH comics, some new t-shirts and stuff, anything to let casuals know something is coming, and the Avatar Novel for us diehards.

you're doing Avatar a huge disservice by not promoting it at this late stage of the game. i'm not asking for a glut of horrible Star Wars toys/merchandise for garbage SW sequels, just some small bits of really well done promotion that would help fans return to a great film franchise like Avatar.

I'm not so sure of that; the lead up to Avatar's release in theaters was extremely secretive to generate hype, and it worked. Not only did it work, they made an absolute f***ton in ticket sales.

Do not meddle in the affairs of marketing, for they are subtle and quick to anger. :xD:

I just follow many movie sites through rss (yeah, I'm still on those) and when an Avatar item pops up, I post it here for those who still follow the tidbits of Avatar news on ToS. We're dwindling in numbers but still, some of us are still here.

They sound like Land Before Time vhs titles.

Being as I don't think Lightstorm intended for these "titles" to come out this early, These may very well not be what the sequels are called(could have been even placeholder names until they wanted to get serious about making the titles.
Also the DH comics are rolling out starting in January with Tsu'teys path, and Avatar has been active on Twitter, promoting, the comics, and posting short bits of info, from bits about the fauna on Pandora to updates on the sequels, to even showcasing some fan art, the account has also been on FB and Instagram. And The Toruk show is still going strong, so while the forums are sadly having a severe drought, I am optimistic still :)

i sure hope those Dark Horse comics are on the way. i need something in this Desert Of The Real, Pandora Version. :(
