I found this band a while ago (by accident, fairly obviously), but they're epic if you like melodic death, and their lyrics are great.

I agree with LOVEavatar... I'm really not much of a fan of fake metal bands... the kind who just do it for money. Really, I like just about all metal, just not really into numetal or metalcore.

Good shout. Any genre with "core" as a suffix can generally be expected to be balls. Numetal and "Modern Metal" are also bullsh*t.

Speaking of which... to make up for the last page or so;

(Great song. Fantastically bad video.)

Badass Metal spam.

I assume you mean aside from grindcore, as carcass might be the most influential grindcore band ever aside from Napalm Death.

Also, a lot of people tend to think that ____core means it has breakdowns. In truth, core originated with grind back in the late 80s. then hardcore combined heavy metal riffs and *lame* attempts at grind riffs, added breakdowns, and then called it hardcore.

After that we had the disaster known as metalcore, and then the less retarded but mostly terrible(there are a few bands I like) deathcore.

I would hardly call Threat Signal a disaster. ;)

^The outro is epic.

^Love the breakdown thing at 1:52 in this one. Also 3:02.

Devourment 06-20-2010 03:18 AM

Incoming mass of genre-nazi hatred.

From listening to that, I heard what I expected: forgettable, generic riffs, and lolsamechordoverandoveragain breakdowns. The singer's growls were average at best, and his clean vocals were overprocessed.

If you want good breakdowns, listen to this, not that generic junk.

Nope, grindcore can be lumped in with that, too, as it's also mega sh*t... just like the rest of Carcass' early work. Heartwork and Swansong, however, are Melodeath masterpieces.
