VLC is pretty much tops, I think, as it's the only freebie I've found that allows you to step a frame at a time. The big downer is that you can't step backwards. Because of this, when I know I'm getting close to the frame I want, I just start snapping every frame. Then I open them all with Preview or Image Viewer and navigate around with the arrow keys until I've decided what frame is sharpest.
For the stereoscopic shots I use Adobe Premiere, since I can step forwards and backwards through both left and right views at the same time, but Premiere is very non-free, obviously! |
