[Idea/Planning] Huge Possible Future Avatar Meeting.
 

This has been mentioned a couple of times, and having just read a post by Sight Unseen brought it back into my mind...
I was wondering about doing something huge for Avatar fans, having a real meeting where people from everywhere could come to meet, see what we could arrange... If anyone has any ideas, suggestions or comments, let's hear them :D

It would need to be in the "years" planning stage. It would most likely have to happen at 2-4 sites across the globe, and it would be epic.

Seriously, that can be very awesome. I get in for sure.
We will need a list of each member and where they live to have an idea where is the best place to do that. We should create a pole to ask the community if they are interested and ask where they live by the same time.
It can take long time but if there have enough people to organize that it's possible.

As Aihwa said, this would require years of intense planning and preparation. A good target date would be sometime around the sequel, perhaps a few months before the release, when Avatar fever is in full swing. You may even be able to get some official participation by Fox, Cameron, or the cast.

Obviously, location is going to be a major problem. Virtually everyone is going to have to be willing to take a flight and go to considerable expense to attend. If it was to be in one location, it would have to be a major international hub, like New York City, Los Angeles, London, etc. Personally, I would love to see it in a very nice natural area, or perhaps even a location that is being threatened in some way.

We should all have some sort of identification that shows everyone what user we are too.

This would be awesome, especially with official participation. I think I would die if that were to happen, fingers crossed that it does (and also that I don't die)

How about a few meetings around the world at the same time? In nort america, Europe, Asia and Australia? Someplace central in all theese continents of course, cloose to some beautiful nature!

With a few years planning, this could turn out HUGE! Especially if it was done cloose to the realese of the sequel! :D

That was my idea, to have a Europe one (London would be my vote there), a North America one, and then see where else has people who are interested in arranging one.

This would be so epic! I like the idea and would be down if it works out!

London would be great! Pretty cheap to get to wherever in europe your from, easy to communicate, and (as far as i know) some fine nature! I vote for London! :D

This indeed would be amazing! I live in California, and will soon this year be graduating college and getting a (better) paying job so I can soon move out and such, so basically taking flights to a different location wouldn't be a problem for me, its just knowing the dates (which again wouldn't be a big problem)... and if one was around the Western area, like Los Angeles, I'd love to help plan that out (I'm already in charge [Shatnerpossum and I] of the So Cal Avatar Retreat... aw crap still need to make reservations!!!) but yea, I'd vote London as well

I have another idea, that we do this in international hubs as you suggest, London, New York, California and what we do is we attend the closet venues and connect through webcam in stream with the other parties going on and chat with them too, a huge viral and social gathering, nobody can be missed, but the idea of having one venue, metting all of you, is impossible to calculate in my head the awesomeness :)

Interesting, would need quite a bit of coordination with timezones, but I guess it could be done. It would be easier if we make this a truly epic event of course, something that lasts 2 days or so.
