Default Star Trek Tech?

Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this. Will we some day in the future have the ability to:
1. Beam to another place (transporter)
2. Go to warp speed (warp drive anti-matter matter)
3. Phasers (Beamed weapons)
4. Artificial Gravity
5. Force feilds

I think that we could achieve all of them at some point except for the transporter due to storage capacity and The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principal...

Thoughts?

Most likely given a huge amount of time (thousands of years) we would possess most of those.

In the near future (within 200 years) we could most likely manage anti-matter propulsion but thats still traveling at relativistic speeds. We already do deploy beamed weapons (lasers); however, traditional guns will continue to be our main armament for a very very long time. High intensity lasers and railguns require too much power to serve as reliable handheld weapons.

In fact speaking about weapons, this is probrably the future:

Who needs a laser when you have this?

Wow, I like this gun, it will be handy for the military!

interesting gun... its no phaser but it would get the job done!

Technology advances exponentially so we'll likely have most of those quicker than what some of the more cynical views state. It's reaching the consumer market that takes time.

2-5 are all possible, transporters aren't (without quantum computing, anyway) due to nowhere near enough memory, ever. It needs approximately 10^45 bits to recreate an average human with perfect accuracy and more required in practice, this is 1.25x10^32TB, while the TOTAL amount of stored information on Earth is approximately 4.7x10^21 bits.

Energy weapons will probably be first, then force fields, with artificial gravity and FTL travel coming later, but still in the foreseeable future.

There's some interesting discussion on this topic in this Slashdot poll's comments. For example, one person suggested that warp drive technology is necessary for all the others because you need something that creates power rather than sucking up large amounts of it.

Also, awesome manual is awesome -- that's well worth a look, if you're interested in the tech behind Trek.

1. Maybe. The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle prevents this, but what the hell, with enough technology anything is possible.
2. Yes. Alcubierre drive - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
3. Already have that. Rip a laser off a laser cutter, connect it to a battery, instant beam weapons. It is of course not that simple.
4. Yes. It's called centrifugal force. Or, if you want real artificial gravity, they could do it by creating artificial wormholes to extract gravitons from the other dimensions and channel them into a certain direction, thereby creating artificial gravity.
6. Strong directed magnetism maybe?

Well nothing in the Universe has yet to defy gravity (an astronaut in space is always experiencing gravity but so is the spaceship, so relative to both them seem to be floating while the more accurate observation is that both are free-falling to the Earth at the same velocity) so it's more finding a new law of nature than advancing technology that's the problem here. The closest thing we ever have gotten to simulating "anti-gravity" is the 'Vomit Comet' and as I stated earlier, it's not actually anti-gravity,

Teleportation. I heard that one atom has been teleported instantaneously from one point to another. I remember if from TV but if I'm speaking BS here I wouldn't be surprised. I don't see how teleportation won't be a reality in the (distant) future.

Phaser/laser weapons. Laser technology is progressing exponentially. I predict in the near future the military will be at least experimenting on destructive laser technology.
