Animation techniques already 30 000 years ago?
 
Researchers claim that paleolithic artists used a kind of animation technique to simulate movement in their paintings and drawings. Here is an article and a film that shows the ancient animations.

To render the movement, they deconstructed it in successive images.

According to the researchers, this would explain multiple heads or limbs on some cave paintings.

I'd never have guessed the intention behind that... When I saw the title, I just guessed it would probably be successive images.

This is just awesome. Though they're more like... movement lines (like in comics) than intended animations (like in animated movies), but whatsoever, still awesome.
