Who'd take a video camera camping?

- Mikko ... would.
Hmmm....you got me thinking...

As for taking a video camera camping...well, I wouldn't mind as long as it brought it's own tent.......

All being well, my little Canon video camera will be going on it's travels with me again.

Ha! That makes two of us then Every now and again I have to go and sit on the naughty branch of Hometree or clean up the Ikran doo-doo - not fun after curry night......Takes weeks to get over the smell

Hmm. I don't know about movie making.
See y'all there! (in both places).

Do you have any idea how many terabytes of material I have because of that attitude?

nice one, Aketuan! it was good to chat with all this morning

(while y'all are sleeping... *rubbing my hands & laughing with evil laughter*)
Only as an idea: maybe to add in your post above for the people who didn't participate in the chat that it was decided on two groups: "backpackers" is a "rough it out" unit with super stamina, & Everyone group is a "take it easy + backpackers" group.
Ah, & backpackers will probably meet at some point in order to arrive more or less at the same time?

Also, as a suggestion for one of the future discussions (Alan started it ): what to bring? Like, warm clothes - yes, but also wind/rainproof. Food? low weight + high energy (energy bars & the like). Energy drinks are better than water (they restore also the mineral balance = less muscle aches the next day ("trust me - I learned the hard way "). Tents - some tsmukans have tents for 2, 3, 5 persons... That's for the future discussions of course, but some things will have to be bought/rented, it would be nice to start investigating the possibilities & prices. Recommendations from experienced outdoor clan members will be very welcome Only as a suggestion.

All said... I am impressed by these concerted efforts! Go, clan!

definitely a lot of stuff to work out yet. I think we can get it all organized in the next 6 months.
"learned the hard way" - I hope it wasn't anything too serious.

Looks good in terms of what's happening.

Full log: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6036637/%23avtrmeet-camping.txt

We still need to work out what we're doing in terms of storing stuff for those of us arriving from elsewhere who will have all of our bags with us.

Great to see things shaping up
^^^oh no, nothing serious. Just toddling for two days accompanied by "ouch! ouch! ouch!" at each step

You did a wonderful job on the time line. Well done!! Any idea on how we get the supplies and people to the campsite and back to Seattle? We are using tents while camping, yes?

Thanks for the comments on the timeline - I'll keep it updated as we add things...

@Moms Ball Avatar: we have only worked out the major details yet, eventually we should have everything planned out including transport stuff. Tents? yeah I think most people will do tents.

@ HNM: thanks for the log

Sarah said she'd have a car we could use which would be cheaper than a shuttle. I'm all for cheaper
