Default My annoying rant

hey everyone!!

I wanted to start this topic and i hope this is the right place for it, but I have been having certain issues and I am thinking people are getting annoyed by it, and I am truly sorry if I am, cause I like everyone here and its a great community.. all the fangirls and some of the guys that have come into the fandom, I cannot help myself when I get into a certain rant. I dont care when this happens and I just say what is on my mind without even being able to control it.

I am talking about looks.. I hate when someone mentions anything about looks and how to look better and stuff.. anything to do with it. It is no one's fault, just mine, cause it angers me and there's nothing I can do about it.

Anything about fashion or heels or straightened hair or weight or makeup... it all angers me.. cause women are pressured enough as it is by society and even by commercials and tv shows for Pete's sake.. and EVEN movies and music vids... they all look the same and all have the same fashion sense and stuff, so sorry to anyone who likes fashion, but to me, it truly is a horrible thing. Fashion makes it so everyone has to wear what is considered "cool" and in style, they can't wear their own clothes cause then they are ridiculed by society and it's not "cool" i DONT agree with this and it is completely horrid. Everyone is entitled to their own look and style, no one or nothing should tell them otherwise!! This world is supposed to be about diversity, and yet people are walking around... and it seems like attack of the clones! I have never seen so many people look the same in my life.. its getting worse! I think people are being brainwashed into thinking what is cool and what isn't so.. anyone readin this.. try to be your own person.. dont try to impress people cause they think its cool.

Be yourself...thats the best thing you can do!
and this reminds me, that show What Not to Wear is a disgrace to us women and even men. Telling us what to wear and what to spend.. expensive clothing? we have ENOUGH to pay for, so they should just go along and leave us the hell alone!! Let us be our own boss of our own lives and styles..

that is all..

I couldn't agree more alleycat. For many years I have been told that you need a makeover, lose a bunch of weight, etc. I have always had a poor self-image. Well, not always. Before I reached puberty, I was fine. I didn't think of myself as ugly, etc but once I hit puberty and the rest of my class hadn't, I was a subject of ridicule. I used to walk to school in those days and on my way to school and back I was chased by boys who would insult me the whole way home. They said many terrible things about me, how ugly I was, how I was toxic waste, etc. It didn't get any better. When I was in middle school and the early years of high school, it got worse. I was teased and ridiculed all the time because of the shape of my nose, my hair, my weight, etc.

It tortured me . I tried in middle school to dress like everyone else but my parents didn't have a lot of money so I ended up getting the styles everyone was wearing, months later when no one was wearing them.

Eventually, I tried not to care but it did alot of damage to myself. Even to this day I deal with it. For years, I thought that the reason no man was interested in me as a woman to date/marry, etc was because I was ugly. I still have issues with this.

As for as fashion, I don't care anymore about that. I wear what I want to wear and I don't care for any of the "latest" fashions.

It is terrible that people judge based on looks. I also agree about the show, "what not to wear". They seem to think that everyone needs a posh, NYC type of wardrobe. Most of us are not on that kind of budget.

Be yourself ally, that is soo true. Don't let people put limitations on you, express yourself, no matter how you do it theres always something uniform about society, and you have the best character because you decide to think otherwise. Hehe i fell in love with your personality, and that's all that matters

I am SOO sorry to hear about thiss.. and i was sad when i read it I cannot begin to BELIEVE the crap they were doing to you just cause of what you look like.. Ive seen a pic of you, and you are beautiful! you are so real and so natural, and it seemd like you found the man of your dreams cause you got married!! and that's the thing! obviously this guy doesnt care about what you look like, cause to him, you are beautiful! and to all of us too! this is why i hate society, cause its like the are basing every man's opinions of beauty on one kind of look.. which isnt so! once agian, i feel bad about your childhood.. it wasnt fair! those kids should of respected you better! society starts for us when we are really young, and to wear certain clothes is just dumb.. i think us that have been picked on as kids are hit by it more.. and we rebel against it alot more..

Awww, thank you alleycat. Yes, my husband thinks I am the most beautiful woman ever. It is still difficult to see me the way he does but I can't complain. Those terrible memories of my childhood will be with me for a long time but I do know that I am loved. And that is all that matters .

When I think of fashion, I think of something different, something that expresses the person... two of my female cousins are highly into fasion, they wear some new funky stuff I haven't seen on anyone else, but it looks really good, and they love it because people say it gives them differnet ideas... they switch stuff around with each other, try new combinations, things like that... I like fasion that expresses who you are (well I guess thats what fasion is... you in with the crowd? cool get what everyone else is getting. Want to be different (like me)? wear something not everybody else wears and not care about what others think)

Thanks for this rant ally... and it is true about women... so much crap and BS from this world are thrust upon you ladies that its unfair... TV ads, shows, magazine ads, articles, music videos... it's not right. Guys? Ehhh kind of but not as much as girls. My heart goes out to all you women, you are good enough, don't let the lies of this world pull you in

awwww Ally if you could see the smile on my face right now... you are truly making my day

and yes, I am glad my eyes are opened to the painful terrible truth around us... going to a public trade school you see this world... some guys have girls to be "friends with beinfits" (sex) how good some girls are in bed, things like that, and they're treating women like objects... and there is no way in eternity that I could ever think of a woman as an object, they're just as human as us guys... whats the thinking? Most guys if they think about getting together with a girl nowadays its like "I wonder how quickly i can get her into bed" NO! Wrong! for me its getting to know them, spending time with them, admiring them for who they are, their traits, what they like to do, all that stuff (sorry it's like I'm turning this into my rant). Because they're different than guys, so its interesting to see why... guys obviously are differnet too, but girls are on another level... once again sorry haha

Everwhere i look is the sexualisation of women, basically flesh branded on every reachable surface, that's how it feels to me. It hurts inside to see people sell themselves like that, and the corporations making women feel bad, and therefore invest in their products. It makes me soo sad to see such lovely people addicted to such cosmetics, beleiving they need to change but they need to see how beautiful they are. I love you ladies here, every admirable quality in a girl, you are all sacred, beuatiful creatures that deserve to be treat most handsomely and cherished. Women are soo beautiful, and to see them disregarded pains me. Theres nothing better than a womans hug, thats what sells me

Of course ally and thank you for everything ally

And it's the unfortunante truth... just how guys treat women nowadays is making me sick beyond belief... sometimes beyond what I can bear and I cry... I truly feel for you ladies, and like I said I am glad my eyes are opened to this kind of thing, so I can go against the crowd and be different, actually be truth. Because I go to a school thats pretty much all guys (except for the ocassional girl who loves cars [I go to an automotive technician school]) I'm around it all the freakin time. I love school, but sometimes the conversations that go on is sickening. And outside of school as well whenever I see a girl walk by I think, "what seperates me from those guys at school? How does she know that I wouldn't just try to get her to bed but want to develope a relationship? Actually get to know her?"

Stanley, you are very wise. It is to bad that more men don't think like you do when it comes to women. It is ironic that since the time of the "feminist" movment, women are treated worse than they were before the movement. Women are treated as nothing more than objects to be used and discarded. I do think that our current society, especially the media has something to do with this. It is disturbing that with the rise in pornography, we get the rise in the abuse of women and sometimes children.
