Sketch: My First Neytiri. (56k warn.)
This is about 3 months old:
Mechanical Pencil, 2D lead (standard No.2 pencil kind), 20 minutes  -An attempt at making stripes (Terrible it is, I still don't know how to capture them strips correctly) -Basic detail -No neck anatomical focus -All done in good fun (and out of desperation, Neytiri was in my head all day long!)

Looks alright. Not as good as the sketch that is your Avatar. But, a good start I would say. But, I haven't tried sketching in a long time so I don't know how good I would be at it.

I even tried to color it too, but that didn't go out well. If you see closely, the blue and the sky blue of the skin just don't mix (or is that just my eye?).
Sometimes my eye gets critical, like I can't see what looks fine until it's all done. Sometimes when I'm done I'll still think about it.

I keep thinking the strips are done wrong! Like I know the strips of a Na'vi are passive (to say the least) when you look at their skin. It blends in smoothly with the ton of their sky blue skin. They look more like Tattoos that stayed on them for a good while (pigments and tattoos all go hand in hand).
Drawing these with only one medium and trying to make them blend is so difficult. I was lucky when I made my masterpiece picture. Graphite pencils can blend easy and I have little experience using them (thank goodness). I like to solve problems, and this is my main cliche.

i think it looks great. I suck at drawing faces so I wish I could even draw a neytiri that goos. It took you 20 minutes, well it would probably take me an hour
