Default Too late for the change?

Some people believe all this system is unchangeable and just wait arms crossed it to fall down. I don't, I believe a change is possible yet it's very, very difficult to be made.

Because most of people would rather keep all the **** they've got even though they know what it's cost.
We appreciate products of this society that have no actual value rather than the actual important things.
And try to fill a hole with something that will only make it deeper.

Things are not right now.

But I know I am not the only one who will try to fix them.

Hear hear ma tsmukan! The most dysfunctional thing to say, in most cases, is "It's just the way it is"...

I've been confronted with so many people that tell me this almost everyday. Now, with all the new changes going on, no matter how small, it's proving to me that I know things can change.

You hit the head on the nail with this one Zenit! *pats back*

Mmm, the system? As in: Disunity, hierarchies, materialism, wasteful and unsustainable lifestyles? Have I nailed it yet?

Change is possible but it starts with awareness of what we're facing as a collective. The ignorance is hard to dispel and cast away, and it's hard to rally people up for anything because John and Jane Doe are quite smug with the way things are. It's hard for anyone to reconsider another way when society is showering them with immediate material benefits.

With the indwelt human apathy and division, I think awareness is only possible through personal pain. Funny, humans won't react or fight for change unless it directly affects them. I think society's institutions breed us to be competitive and materialistic and disconnected from each other.

I like to think change is possible as well.

Just remember... we're the next generation to inherit this earth. Together we will make a difference.

You, my good sir, are absolutely right! *high four!* *gives him a hug*

If we help even one entire generation, we help the next approximate 7 and on-going generations ahead of us.

That's definitely something to think about...

Agreed, we can change this, but it can be very very difficult, but I think we'll accept a challenge as big as this... what would be the first thing we should do to start?

In my personal opinion, the place to start would be to realise that love and care is more important than money and power on all counts.

The motto I live by is PLUR, which is an acronym for Peace Love Unity and Respect... and darn it I live to that everyday. I don't judge and I can't hate. Sure I may dislike someone because of the way they're treating me, but I don't hate them, hate is such a strong powerful word that has lost it's true complete meaning, as with love. I think I'm off to a good start

Well, as you know, i'm a member of your community as well. (Even if my tastes lay in a slightly different area, we still have the same complex. ) And I agree, it is an absolutely excellent way to live your life.

If you only give out good energy to everything you interact with, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain in my personal view.

Haha I remember and yes, that motto has made my living so much better

And your personal view is also another great one... which is why I;m not afraid to do a lot of other things... I may be different and like different things, but I don't care about what others think and I don't let them sway my own personal opinions.

BTW this is a little OT but you say your taste in music is slightly different, how so? what genre do you like?

I think we should accept this as a challenge.... good one Stan i think in a way we have already started... we are posting threads and discussing issues in the world we wish to change and we are making good points..thats a start maybe someone will definitely listen to us it takes one step at a time and we could do it

oh and what Fkeu said.. the love thing.. we should care more about that than money.. in which the majority of us at ToS do

One random act of kindness at a time transforms the world ma tsmuke. Such as is the case with Avatar. One movie literally changed countless of people, even those who we don't know about. Indeed, you are right. We are already starting to shift our focus, and our group is very small. However, that doesn't mean anything. A small group can change the entire world, and it is the only thing that did. I say we spread this towards other corners of the world that desperately need love and kindness, including ourselves.
