I Am Finally Going to See Avatar in IMAX
I can't believe it, but finally a Smithsonian museum (Washington D.C., around where I live) is going to show Avatar in their IMAX theater! I kept waiting for the movie to show up in the Air & Space Museum - but guess where it is playing? At the Museum of Natural History!!
They start playing Avatar this Friday, and the movie is running through September it looks like! I am just so *psyched*! To see my favorite film in a true IMAX theater - in 3D no less! Wow. I never thought I would see this day! And it's been like six months since the film was released and now it has finally made it's way to an IMAX theater around here. Amazing. It will be interesting to see how well the film does since it is also out on DVD.

Be prepared. Reserve seats, bring mace(if someone decides to eat popcorn during the mating scene), and get ready for a wild ride.

I must admit that I'm excited for you JakeFanGirl
 Besides Avatar, the Smithsonian Institute is a pretty incredible place to visit. Avatar will do just fine though, those who missed it in theaters but have watched it at home will definitely go see it the way it's supposed to be And on a very positive side note, Alaska is finally getting an IMAX theater! It opens up on June 11th it think. And from what info I could gather it's a real IMAX, not the smaller "lieMAX" that gets played off as the same thing. Hopefully Avatar will be re-released this August or the theater will show it anyway cause I really want to see it in IMAX

Here in sweden we have probably just one IMAX cinema, unfortunately it plays only short factual films ... I am jealous.
Anyway, have a nice Avatar Imax view!

You are very lucky. IMAX is great, you will definitely enjoy it. I checked the session times for a cinema in my city and they finally stopped showing it, I'm sad now
