This is not a religious book, it is an academic essay. But the enthusiasm and belief of the author makes the book appear more spiritual than it otherwise would be.But be warned. This book is not for the meek. It is long, complex and, in places, very boring. But if you are really interested in these things, it may be worth a look.
In fact, the book is also very much about poetry and goes into lengthy detail on the subject, as it appears that poetry and the Mother Goddess myth appear to be inextricably intertwined.
Robert Graves has shown interest in mythology. He wrote a book on the greek Myths and also was the writer of the BBc Screenplay "I Claudius."
