Plato said that the most sublime virtue was knowledge, Aristotle said a man is only filled when he has reached happiness; but nowadays ethics are ruled by money. Money is the goal of everything, money is the source of everything.
It seems to yell out: "Make the people buy your products no matter the price. If the income is huge, you are a complete and successful person." Thus we've got serious trouble with environmental issues, people suffering from the consequences of the corporations policies and brainwashed by the adverts who tell them to buy to be happy; even if it's just Walmart crap. What are we becoming? Could the people of the future take us as models?

Capitalism is responsible for consumerism and therefore money being the ultimate goal in life.
I swear by one thing, if you can break capitalism then you will break this ever worsening cycle that society is slipping into. Because in a capitalist finding happiness, means finding money. Not exclusively, but for most people, yes.
