Tampering With The D.N.A.

The major four sciences : Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. Each one of them studies a particular part of our world. Each one has its branches and each one has had its period of Advancement. The Ancient Times were the times were advances were made in Mathematics. The Medieval Times were the times of Alchemy and Chemistry. The past few centuries centered their attention in Physics. This century, or century will be the century of Biology.

Ok so I will get into brass tacks xD The newest and most fascinating Biological branch is Chemotherapy ( not sure if thats the English name ) . Its where the scientists tamper with the DNA. So reports state that soon enough we might be able to change completely our genetic structure. For strength, resistance to cold, heat and damage and the reduction of fatigue generated by exercise.

So the most probable scenarios I've been able to dig us were "Carbon Fiber Bones", Heave Muscle and Skin weave. those do look awesome. Any thoughts on the subject? I'd sure as hell like to jump off the roof to the ground to avoid going down the stares So what do you guys think?

There is only so many things that can be done to DNA without Mutations. The process of Genetic Engineering or tampering with DNA is to pull apart sections of DNA and rearrange them to code for a different protein or by reconnecting Chromosomes together in a different sequence. However bring Mutations into the picture and nearly anything becomes possible to a point. Eg: Being able to recode a plant to code for the Enzyme Luciferase and it will glow

I agree with you there and apart from cost, here's why...

It is imposable to modify something after cell division has began because the persons immune system will detect the modified cells as a foreign organism and attack them, causing organ rejection. unless they are happy to spend the rest of there lives on immune system suppressants. Meaning this technology will not be available to our generation!

Giving a mention to two other uses for this technology stated in previous posts

Using it to create a super-organism, while it will be possible in the future, is quite amoral, dangerous and not to mention costly and splicing an unborn child to create a different race would only turn a healthy human baby into a walking freakshow that has a greatly reduced chance of survival from both there own genetics and other humans.

There is a problem with the modified plants that are biolumenescent, if they were to ever get into the wild, it could have disastrous effects for our ecosystem (although we would eventually have a forest like Pandora's, tough choice )

Also, I think much of the work will go into pinpointing the places in our DNA which make us susceptible to diseases and illnesses, maybe even the DNA Death-Clock to make our live longer...
