Default Zenit's Personal Notes.

Some annotations I made myself, from my notebook to ToS. Probably updated, as the week keeps going.

---

  • This is not a society anymore.

This is a conglomerate of 6 billion people working on screens, concentrated in blocks; which only aim is their own interests and the only relation with the rest of the world is to use them as a means to reach their goals.

We lost the good habit of living together in selflessness, altruism. That was what made societies healthy: it was not about YOU, selfish bastard; it was about the whole community that gave you support and lived for you. A community we used to live in as an only sentient being, in which there was a strong union even when conflicts appeared.

Now we don't even want to know about our neighbors, what would that profit us?

  • We are the goddamned spoiled children of History. Our fathers and our sons would be ashamed of us; but we don't care, as long as we can get our own way, as long as we can sell and buy the poison we produce ourselves.

  • You may have the certainty that something here is right or wrong; but then some guy will turn around saying that yours is just a perspective as valid as the serial killer's, the neonazi's or the butcher's. You are meaningless, morally speaking.

  • I don't speak for the truth itself, but I believe I make a good approach.

  • The first step to be free is to realize you're a slave. See what kind of chains you wear so far.

  • I would like to write about the good things of this world, about the hidden beauty of the untouched areas and the fresh scent of the near pine woods; the song of the birds which's names I still ignore,... But that would be part of the fictional genre in the human sphere.

  • For the selfish bastards: if you're going to absolutely focus your work on yourself and won't share anything with anyone; at least keep in mind you're responsible of your actions. This means that if you have suddenly poisoned a local village with your waste, you must repair the damage done: it's your fault and those people did not deserve to die from your trash.

  • One person is free and long as they are responsible. And responsible as long as they're free.

  • There is a reason.

--

PS: For those wondering why here on the FanFic section, I would like it to be more personal and less public than if I posted it in the General Forums.

Oh, and I break my break just here. This will be the only post I will keep alive throughout my vacation time.

(((It doesn't hide it from my eye's and ears...)))

How can you say that our ancestors would be ashamed? We've sent people into space. We've lived in places that they could never dream of. In the past hundred years, we've done more than any other generation in our recorded history. We've taken the gifts they gave us, and built on them. Just as our offspring will go places and do things even we cant imagine.

I'd better send this to Aihwa in a PM.

A very few people have accomplished those things. Or the collective has. Most of us, individually, are mass consumers addicted to screens, even those of us with green pretensions (after all, we're staring at screens right now). There's a dark side to everything, Aihwa, especially "progress".

This thread probably should be moved to the debate forum, or the general forum.

Just keep in mind Aihwa, this is not a debate thread.

Yeah... It is. He's making a broad statement about people. I'm challenging it. Like always.

It's not the purpose of the thread.

If it had been, it would have been in the debate section.

If you want to challenge his opinion in this particular matter, you can either start a new thread in the debate section, or send him a PM.

*facepalm* along with Xynth, I hate people who look pesimistically on the Human race, all 6 billion people aren't like that. You do not see.

Hate me then.

But think there is a reason why people think different from you. There's always one. Perhaps you weren't brought up the same way I was, or aren't surrounded by the same people I am. Perhaps you don't see the big picture, perhaps I don't.

There is a reason. Keep that.

Human behavior is always more or less dictated by their surrounding environment. For example, if people live in a prosperous environment, they have no need to be greedy or hostile to one another. But when you take all that away, people start fighting over scraps, and at the expense of others. Now it's never black and white, but the system is pretty much the same, no matter on what part of the gradient we look at.

That's up to the OP to decide.
