They both cast forth,
Respective ways.
One softly speaks,
Cast milky rays.

The others screetch,
Belch acid glow.
One jagged blast.
One cautious flow.

Begging, consuming.
Needs us to survive.
The second forgotten,
She cowers and cries.

Both vying attention,
In different tact.
Both caught through a window,
In twisted refract.

But which way to turn,
This confusion-rife night?
To real but so distant...
To close yet not right...

Thus turning my back,
To the sharp, sickly seep,
I finally see,
What's ours to reap.

In luminescence,
Drawn ghostly greys,
Quiet beauty you sing,
Overpowers the haze.

Together we'll run,
From this old, hollow place,
And once all is quiet,
We'll meet face to face.
