Just for tonight
I don't want too ... I don't want to have to think I don't want to do I don't want to have to be civilized and disciplined or intellectual or problem solving or concerned with matters that have no answer I just want to BE! To be at oneness with earth To be still with the moon and stars and the whispers of the soft night air and the quietness of tranquility serenity and peace around me To commune in solitude with the grass and the dirt and the flowers and my garden and all growing things To commune in gratitude with the hearts of many beating in unity connected to all as one To hear the beating of the drum and the hum of the flute and the shake of the rattle and feel the warmth of a fire and dance round in the circle without guilt, shame, sin or regret Just for tonight I long for a simpler thing where spirit is .. just is .. and we don't have to work so hard at it and all notions of civilized society fall away ... and the mind goes quiet and heart fills with joy and our spirits are at peace Just for tonight .. It's not just a dream

God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy **** we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off." - Tyler Durden |
