Default Full immersion

Soon it will be possible to fully immerse oneself in Avatar and other 3D movies trough VR helmets, or TV glasses with one little display for each eye. Together with headphones the illusion of reality will be nearly perfect:

Virtual reality helmet

A cocoon for all five senses

Videoglasses with one screen for each eye

Hotlinkfail.

As for VR, do want... sadly it's still quite a way off, but eventually... maybe JC will pioneer it for Avatar 3...

I have no problem with Movies turning into much more immersive and VR alike, but I hardly believe such glasses or helmet alone could do that.

Matrix link, anyone? (I'd get it in queue form ). To visit a place like Pandora I'd gladly get one installed.

Vr will be the next step after 3D in a decade or two but true immersion has a long way to go. If environments could be truly made to be interactive i.e. you could create your own story in a VR setting and affect the outcome with your actions, then that would truly be an awesome and fully immersive experience.

If that happened, no one would ever come out of their virtual reality.

Lucid Dreams are exactly what you described here. The only problem is.. you may not fully remember the experience.

Not sure if I want that much realism in some things...

However.

Seeing what CCP considered the "capsuleer's" experience in EVE would be pretty cool.
