Default Avatar , another re-release possible ?

Have been wondering if there's any official infos on if Avatar is going to be brought back to the cinemas , any ideas/facts ?

I'm pretty sure it's gone for good. Some local theaters might show it again, but I don't think there will be another nation/worldwide "push."

The total gross for the re-release was only about $10 million in the US. It would hardly be worthwhile for the studio

There are multiple reasons for that. For one, it was only shown at 800 theaters. There was little to no advertising done either. The re-release made most of it's gross from the fans who knew about the release and were willing to watch it more than once.

As for the possibility of another re-release... perhaps Fox will consider showing it again with the additional 16 minutes of deleted scenes, or maybe when Avatar 2 comes out. Other than that, I don't think we'll be seeing another re-release.

It would have been more but that was only released in limited theatres.

The Omni theater (an IMAX at a museum in Fort Worth) showed the original cut around July for a week or two because of demand. I don't think the demand is big enough anymore...
