Default Best Day of My Life.

When Jim said the Collector's Edition was going to be the ultimate disk set, he wasn't joking. This thing is amazing. The casing itself is something to behold.

Behind the sleeve is a hardcover casing that resembles a book. It has with three pages that hold all three disks.

Congratulations! Yeah, it's a hoot, isn't it?

Jim knows how to please his fans, and I think the box-art really does a good job of showing it. He knows people have developed an emotional and spiritual connection to the world he has created, and it's people, and he knows that to us Avatar is more than a movie, it's a life-changing experience, and I think he wanted to develop a box that would reflect that.

Since I drive by Walmart on the way to work I picked it up this morning. Now all I need is a whole bunch of hours to watch it.

Ha! Me too. So I got the DVD version to watch too. Altohugh hopefully I will be getting a bluray player later this week, which should be 3D enabled too - future proofing you see

The funny thing is that there appears to be so many different version of the collectors edition, depending on which country you are in. In the UK there is a limited edition Collector's edition. This was limited to just a 1000 copies and I was fortunate enough to get copy No: 300 and it cam with a shed load of stuff: Bluray box set, a signed film frame of Neyney, and a book to boot and packaged into a box. Here's some piccies:

There is also an 'Ultimate' version out there somewhere, but I don't thing it has been made available in the UK to my knowledge. Well enjoy your Avatar CEs my friends,

Alan

Even the menu at the start of the movie is awesome. The Collector's Edition is better than the bare bones edition in just about every way possible.

Such a perfectly-crafted box set...
It is amazing...the quotes, the pictures, Jake's eyes on the cover...
Outstanding job!

I got this version from Play.com. I got the DVD version - just on its own from there too. It is not the Ultimate Edition. I believe that came with a statuette of Jake. There was some chat on some thread somewhere that these weren't available in the US. I know the Ultimate version is not available in the UK, but it is in some places in Europe..I think. All very confusing and unfair really.
