Default Anybody ever feel like you were lost in the movie while watching it?

Well it's Avatar day, so of course I am watching it. And once it started to get near the middle of the movie, a light outside my window kinda took my eyes away from the screen for a second, and at that point, I realized how sucked into Avatar I was. I can truthfully say that after seeing it for the first time, I felt the effects of PAD and wanted to bad to be on Pandora, so I'm no stranger to Avatar having that kind of impact on me. But with that being said, when whatever that light outside my window was caught my attention, a negative feeling came oer me instantly. I remembered all the things that aren't going so well for me right now, the kind of things I should be worried about where I live, ect. But when I was focused on Avatar, I was totally unaware of everything else. I was feeling great until I remembered how life really is. It's like I got lost in the movie.

It might all sound kinda silly, but it was just really overwhelming and I know the only people who could understand are the people on these Avatar sites. So I felt like sharing. Has anybody else had things feeling while watching it? It's a really deep feeling in my opinion.

Well, that's why we say "experience" rather than "watch" when refering to Avatar.

Yeah, also why when the movie ended it was like getting thrown back into the real world. Also why Avatar can be addictive, almost like a trip in movie form

That's it in a nutshell.

I remember back in the early days ... the end of the movie was a torturous delight, since it was simultaneously beautiful and wonderful (for what was happening to Jake) and unbearably horrible (having Avatar end was like having the world drop out from under you)...

I always get pulled in. I feel there. After the movie sometimes I'm surprised when the credits come up. Then reality rushes back in on me. Thats when everything hits me...

So in short yes I do... and as someone above me said, thats why I call it an "experience"

I agree with you, completely. Avatar in 3D was an incredible experience.

Exactly
I know exactly what you mean, the same thing happens every time for me - by the end, I always need to take some time, in a way, to wait for my mind to get back from Pandora...
If only all of me could be there...

I know what you mean Layzie, I had this too. Avatar sucks you in and the only thing that can pull you back out is the credits When I watch it, I am the only thing in the world.

yes definitely, the first time I saw it when I got out of the theatre, I was like oh no not this again... I really forgot about everything else, because the movie was just so immersive...

The only time where I've actually, literally felt like I was inside a movie (almost dream-state-like) was weirdly at one point in the movie "Tangled" (watching in 3D). It was so weird; for about 5 seconds I completely forgot I was watching a movie. As great as I thought Tangled was, I wish this had happened to me during a more... superior film.

Never happened to me with Avatar though, nor any other film. I guess it's like one of those experiences where it happens when you least expect it.

You know that weird weak, tingly, and weary kinda feeling you have when you first wake up? Did anyone else get that during the "wake up, Jake!" scene?

Yes -- pretty much every time. Once you're that far into the movie, not only in terms of attention but in terms of time, and especially if you're watching it late at night, it's almost inevitable.
