Default In case you didn't know

Kaltaxi is not pronounced the way you might think. Many are unaware of this, and I'm here to point out the truth.

Do not pronounce "taxi" like...well....taxi, the thing that drives you around the city. Instead, simple pronounce it as you would pronounce "TEH."

So saying kaltaxi should be said as though you were saying "KALTEH."

Try it!

And never think of it this way again ...

You can hear its correct pronunciation when Grace comes into clan for the first time in the film. She says it to the kids. And it sounds much like what you spelled there.

Grace's is almost WRONG, at least for the ejectives.
Don't take " x = ' ", they are completely different...

Also: don't forget the t sound in this word is ejective! That's why 'tx' is used.

The last letter is an ì, not an i, which is why it ends on an 'ih' sort of sound rather than an 'ee' sound.

Join this if you want to learn to speak Na'vi! Classes start in January!

Nah, I already knew the pronunciation.

It's easy to tell with any word with an "x" in it in Na'vi. If there's an "x", you just sound it out in the word using a glottal stop. Whenever there's an "x", pronounce it like saying the "uh" in "uh-oh". Then you're good to go.

No, glottal stops are represented by apostrophes (as in the word Na'vi).

The letters with x after them (tx, kx, px...) are ejectives.

ISV is right.

Also note that there is no letter "x" (alone) the in Na'vi alphabet, so it cannot be everywhere like the glottal stop.

I didn't ever pronounce it like that, although the tx sound has varied as I still find it a bit hard to make sometimes, but I do pronounce it close to how you described (as the right way) in the OP.
