She don't need all that there makeup to pretty herself up.

In fact, I think the "I See You" scene would've been much more effective (on me, at least) if she didn't have any war paint on.

I remember listening to an interview with JC mentioning this. He said the war paint was too distracting in this scene, which is somewhat true.

Next time you see Avatar, pay close attention to how dirty Neytiri gets from falling to the ground after Seze has been shot. You will notice she is considerably less dirty in the "I see you" scene.
