Default Global Consciousness

It's been awhile peeps...

Anyways, I want your take on global consciousness. In other words, do you think our consciousnesses are somehow interconnected? Are all living things interconnected? Is there a universal consciousness? This is very similar to what is portrayed in Pandora, however, not nearly as physical or apparent.

I'm too lazy right now to do my spiel on evidence to support it, so I'll let you guys start it off!!

Nah man. Nah.
Though we are connected in some ways by similarities.

We all breathe air for example.

All humans are naturally dishonest and greedy.

Quite debatable, sir. For if, back in our beginnings, we only cared about ourselves, we would not be here today. Any community needs it's altruists and optimists, it's 'caring' people.

I find a global consciousness to not be very feasible, but what I do believe is that near-everything has it's own life, and it's own purpose. For example, the only thing (in my opinion) that separates a plant and an animal is that a plant has a lack of senses and movement. Both have as much a right to live as the other. Because of a lack of response though, people try to justify cutting down millions of plants.

Generally, I think everything, and I mean everything, deserves as much respect as everything else.

I feel like there could be, but it would be (if existent) an incredibly weak force. I especially like that pong auditorium experiment with the red/green paddles, if you know what I'm referring to, great, if you don't, I'll find the link. Writing a paper right now though

There is no connection that would carry data. Pandora has the neurochemical/electrical links, but the only interaction between lifeforms on Earth is at the basic chemical level.

I strongly disagree - but... you already know that.

Here are my opinions in the matter:

Since it may be seen as slightly offtopic, feel free to bump that thread as well if you want to directly respond to anything I've said there.

There's a billion and a bit PCs alone, after all.

(but consciousness is stretching it.)

^ This. Totally this.

There's more to reality than face value, when you stop to comprehend it all.

Incredible. I've seen that experiment before and it never fails to awe me. Thom Hartmann talks about it a fair amount, too. It's as if democracy is in our DNA.
