This weekend, I downloaded LIMBO for the PS3 after finally realizing it had been released for that platform. Wow. What a creepy-yet-awesome game. If you're a fan of the puzzle-platformer genre, I offer my highest recommendation for this game. Pretty much the only negative thing I can say about it is that it's a little short. I finished it in about six hours, though I found only a couple of the trophies and plan on playing it through again with the intent of finding them all.
If you haven't seen this game, I would advise looking only at an official trailer, which is unlikely to spoil any of the puzzles. A couple of the earlier challenges in the game were subtly ruined for me as I had inadvertently watched videos with spoilers. The graphics basically look like an old black-and-white film, complete with subtle differences of exposure between frames, and shot with a very shallow depth-of-field. Almost everything is in silhouette. There is no music, there are only the sounds of the environment, which must often be listened to in order to negotiate obstacles. Another thing that will appeal to the geekier types is that the game involves some very realistic physics, despite being 2D, and you really have to have--or develop!--an intuition for this stuff in order to get past some of the later challenges. |

Heh, I saw it as well, and got captivated instantly. Still haven't gotten around to buying it though.

Oooh I really want to get that game. The black and white theme and the black character models remind me of shadow puppets.
The indie titles can be quite well made, such as machinarium and World of Goo. ![]() On my list as well is CreaVures since the characters, gameplay and environment look so well done and fit together effectively.
